Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Our bowlers are getting a bit of a pummeling at the moment. Could do with seeing the back of Clark. Listening to Boycott earlier you'd think he never made a bad shot in his whole career.

I didn't know Stuart Clark was playing for Australia again.TANGODANCER wrote:Our bowlers are getting a bit of a pummeling at the moment. Could do with seeing the back of Clark. Listening to Boycott earlier you'd think he never made a bad shot in his whole career.

The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

it's always entertaining to hear Agnew take the piss out of him!
did you hear the bit where Boycott commented that Smith should be confident because he was on 80-odd in his third innings (having survived 3 times being out!) Agnew replied - I bet that happened to you a few times Geoffrey...
boycott: (splutter) no - never
Aggers: I remember you scoring 180 against us and it happened to you
boycott: oh aye - i scored 180 with one hand - i had a broken hand and I still scored 180
Aggers: do you remember how you broke the hand Geoffrey?
boycott: I could play you with a stick of rhubarb - I was in nearly two days and scored 180
Aggers: yes - you blocked it for hour after hour - killed the game stone dead. do you remember how you broke your hand?
boycott: aye - must have been good blocking for me to get 180 - with a broken hand
Aggers: you broke that hand when you gloved a catch off DeFreitas when you were only on 10
boycott: splutter - no - you're making that up - splutter..
Agnew takes the piss effortlessly - and most of the time boycott doesn't even know it's happening!

Boycott: (splutter) yes - of course I have - it's easy. you just look down for the no-ball - then look up
Aggers: really?
Boycott: yes - it's easy - most of the decisions I can see easily from up here - they're only 22yds away. nothing to it.

Broad gets Clarke, at last. Great innings from the Oz. 187.

Would have been a pain shipping him over from Canada, though.

well done Stuart Broad - the second youngest player to take 200 Test wickets for England (27 years, 39 days) behind Srian (25 years, 280 days)

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
also... Graeme Swann's 17th five-wicket haul puts him equal third wicket-taker for England with Fred Trueman and Derek Underwood.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Having a real gruelling day today. I predicted a high-scorer for this but I was hoping we'd be doing the scoring. Have to do some when we get in. 460-7 on the board is a bit daunting.

in the 2006-07 Ashes series, in the second Test in Adelaide, England scored 551-6 declared in their first innings but only 129 in their second as they lost by six wickets.

Listen, question.
When you declare, and then the other side go and score more, the rotters, can you then go back and finish off from where you left off, and if not what's the feckin point in declaring?

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
TBH I thin if Australia play for the rest of the day then they are not going to have time to beat us. Australia are already killing this game IMO.

i think you seriously underestimate England's capacity to buckle under scoreboard pressure... have we jot been 20-odd for three in just about every innings so far?bwfcdan94 wrote:TBH I thin if Australia play for the rest of the day then they are not going to have time to beat us.
