Dunno, at this level I suspect 7M extra a year is a fair amount.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Yep, always are.Lord Kangana wrote:Hang on - aren't the initial parachute payments spread over 3 yeras?
So we got 16M last year, 16M this year and 8M next year.
Whereas QPR, Reading and Wigan get 23M this year and next....plus whatever it goes down to after that.
So 7M extra quid a year in their budgets.
surely that doesn't go far - that dog of harry's eats a lot of biscuits...
Their big sales have helps too.

Dunno if anyone noticed but West Brom have just signed Uruguyan International Diego Lugano from Paris St Germain who is a centre back. Wonder is Dawson's suddenly going to become available

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Has anyone been watching the Partick Thistle game tonight? Gary Fraser started and was substituted on 83 minutes. I only caught the last few minutes.
I saw him take a couple of decent corners but that was it before he was taken off.

Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Will go to a prem club I reckon. Maybe Cardiff will buy him to partner Caulker. Would be a quality CB pair.Wrighty92 wrote:Dunno if anyone noticed but West Brom have just signed Uruguyan International Diego Lugano from Paris St Germain who is a centre back. It's beyond me why WBA don't seem to rate him.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
So what are people hoping /expecting us to sign now? We arent short of midfield players just a lack of fit ones and we arent short of central defenders or strikers, it's just Mills and Ream arent very good but are on nice contracts and the strikers arent especially prolific.
DF is in a pretty tight spot really without much room for manouvre so loans seem most likely at this stage if anyone is kind enough to take on some of our lame ducks.Maybe we can stretch to signing Spearing, would be a sound investment in the circumstances and perhaps we can borrow a good CH off someone. If as seems likely we are goiung to be sitting deep Mills will still be able to do a job.The Rhodes thing was a very nice idea but I doubt it was ever much more than that and perhaps cynically a nice carrot to help season ticket sales early summer.

I would like to see Dioufy he has developed as a player and while not as quick has learnt to hold up the ball he can still cross and finish he can still whip in those lovely crosses and put a defender on his backside just through skill.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

" Craig Dawson Deal Could be Back On"
Is a Bolton News Headline - with the wrong article attached!?
What gives?

Surely that's a Nixon headline?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

What would make them do that ? It's not libellous, or threatening, or illegal. Even if it was wrong. It has to have come via pressure, but how odd.

the dawson transfer being back on is being mooted elsewhere - but with no new quotes and no reason other than that west brom have just signed a new centre back...

Bish; Bish, Bish, Bish, Bish.Certainly not aimed at you, but aimed at the utter general bollox which is purported in this thread as 'in the know'. No one, except those involved, know what is actually going on, and if those involved were to inform everyone else of what is actually happening, this thread would only be about 20 pages long.
and where would be the fun in that!!

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Just looking at QPR's bench yesterday.
It included...
Richard Dunne
Shaun Wright Phillips
Jermaine Jenas
Charlie Austin
Shaun Derry
Bit scary. They had Andy Johnson and Zamora up front.
Wigan had Fortune, Gomez, McCann and McManaman on their bench yesterday.
Reading had Pobgrebnyak, McAnuff on their bench.
These are the depth of squads we are going up against this year. Not easy. We are tiny in terms of quality and experienced numbers by comparison. Which you might expect to an extent.
Really hope we can bring 2 or 3 more in. I think Dougie is great but I don't think on paper we can compete with what those three have. Add in other teams like Forest who are spending, and we are in danger of being left behind.
I realise that we have to sell to buy and it's a difficult situation. But as well as being short in a couple of key first team areas on quality, what cover do we have for Eagles? Pratley? Medo? Tierney?
Looks very thin to me.
