Re: Technology Thread.
I just tried out a security thingummy-jig on my Samsung. It scans apps and uploads like you may expect, but it also helps out if the phone is stolen or lost.
I can activate from any pc/laptop or smart-phone and it helps locate it. It really does to within about 15 metres. All fairly normal I guess, but it can also activate a couple of noises, even with the sound switched to off ... and finally a screaming sound for emergency location.
Finally, if someone tries to activate it and not use the right password 3 times it takes photo's of the person using it and e-mails them to you plus the location. I tried it and it works very well indeed.
Maybe you trendy young things think that's all pretty standard but this old codger was mighty impressed.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Has anybody got a Microsoft Surface RT tablet? Thinking of getting one for general use and for use in the car for my 1 year old to watch baby related programs on long trips.
Curry's have a deal on at the moment for £275. Seems like a bargain.

Fookin hell. I had to sit in the foot well with a view of the glove compartment when I was a kid. Play eye spy and say goo goo to it for goodness sake.

So I want the tablet for my general use and so I can fasten it to the headrest on long journeys to keep my daughter happy and content

You can also ping a message to the phone screen, too. Like: "I'll find you, you thieving bastard. And when I do..." Etcbobo the clown wrote:I just tried out a security thingummy-jig on my Samsung. It scans apps and uploads like you may expect, but it also helps out if the phone is stolen or lost.
