The reserve game in which Ehiogu played at Burnden? I was at that too... I sat in the Manny Rd North diligently trying to work out how to pronounce his name...

Whoever pronounced it Pair? Obviously, it's pronounced Purr.

Stood in the Manny Road Paddock next to the players tunnel (as we always did at the stiffs games) near that lad who used to shout at all the players, as if somehow they gave a shit what he thought.)

We had a photo on The Nomad once of the Post Office that was (still is?) on Manchester Road near the King Bill.

The sign outside said 'Burden'.

I spotted that!
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

No mention of 'Medo' yet? It's Med-o! Med-o, Med-o, Med-o, as in his name Mo-ham-med. Flippin' commentators are doing my head in with that. But then, as mentioned on our latest podcast (shameless plug: http://www.themeninwhite.com/blog/podca ... more-time/) he seems a nice fella who probably doesn't care in the slightest. If people are chanting your name how bothered will you be if it's pronounced slightly wrong I guess.

But is it Kam-a-ra or Kam-ar-a?
''Amazing! Out of nothing Bolton are level. A quick throw, Kevin Nolan keeps play alive in the box and finds Kevin Davies on the left who lashes a shot under Oliver Kahn.''

Not quite 'real life' but that bellend who commentates on ITV who does Pro Evolution Soccer on PS3/Xbox pronounced Elmander as "Ell-Mun-Deur" as if he was some French bloke.

Also when John Motson was on Fifa he used to say "Gee-ann-ko-poo-los" for Giannakopoulos.

Non-Bolton related, one that really annoyed me was when the world cup was on (2010) and Jonathan Pearce (sp?) was pronouncing Peter Odemwingie as "oh-derm-win-geuh" and he even got Mick McCarthy (co-commentating) saying it like that. He soon changed it when he signed for West Brom!

There's a Youtube video called something like 'Bolton Wanderers Top 20 Goals'. What whoever put it up meant 'The First 20 Bolton Goals I Could Find' but that's for another day.

Anyway, have a look there are some good ones on it. Especially the third or fourth which is bagged by someone called John McGinaly.

He was always one of my favourites.
