Agree, but unless this is addressed before the end of the month IMO we won't get promoted. It's obvious to most fans but not the manager it appears.BWFC_Insane wrote:We are playing some nice stuff.
Problem is at both ends, centre halves who are shaky and no real cutting edge up front.

With respect, Bish, I think you might meanthebish wrote:Martin_Cruise wrote:This guy isn't a Bolton manager. Not the experience for it. feck him off and get McCarthy, Jones or Warnock if they'll come.

Peter Thompson: I would agree with you except that Knight was part of the defence that kept so many clean sheets last season, and also looked occasionally reasonable alongside Cahill or (in Gaz's absence) Ricketts. And we aren't getting two new centre-backs.
As long as we've got a decent centre-back alongside him OR Wheater we might be alright, but both together is a watch-through-the-fingers, count-down-the-seconds job.

Ream and Wheater will be a better partnership than Knight and Wheater are. Knight is a horrible defender, who has only ever looked alright when partnered with either Cahill or Dawson. If we can't get someone else in to parter Wheater, Ream must start instead of Knight. He's a liability and whilst Ream does make mistakes, I have more faith in him to work well with Wheater.
Yet again with us, we are nowhere near good enough going forward.

4-2-3-1 I reckon, Pratley and Hall seem to swapping around quite a bit.thebish wrote:anyone able to discern a formation?

Fully agree, PT. I kind of admire his loyalty to probably the best centre-backs of a bad bunch, but if we keep picking Dumb and Dumber we'll have to bag three goals a game to get the three points.Peter Thompson wrote:Agree, but unless this is addressed before the end of the month IMO we won't get promoted. not true - the knight-ricketts partnership was pretty pretty good... 9in terms of the opposition not scoring many)
