Nat's statue unveiling

Post by William the White » Tue Aug 20, 2013 9:17 pm

I know this is being discussed in the revived 'Lofty - RIP' thread, but thought it deserved its own thread.

At 10.30 this Sat, before the QPR game, the statue will be unveiled. Fans are invited. I think i would like to be there.

I'll be there, taking my 6 year old nephew to his first ever match, so that will make for an extra reminder every time he sees the statue.

I think I've just had a sneaky peek at the statue! Driving past on the way into work and could just about make out the statue on the back of a van. I presume they are checking it over and making sure it fits the platform before Saturday.

Haha no it didn't, it kinda makes the whole unveiling slightly pointless as it was on show to all and sundry!

I think it's more about people paying respects to Nat again rather than seeing some amazing unveiling :)

That's my reason for going anyway :D

Yeah, can absolutley see your point. They should have called it something different then

They've put a picture up of it on the official facebook with the caption 2 days to the big unveil, or something. I'd say they've just done the unveil!

I don't know why I'm getting so het up about it to be honest. :|

It looks bigger than I envisaged, will look good outside the Reebok, at least Nat will never be forgotten now! Looking forward to seeing in the flesh, I will probably have a tear in my eye as I remember the great man!

Just been past the stadium and the new badge was going up by the looks of it. The statue looks great. Hope they don't turn it round because it looks spot on how they have it now.

Much bigger than I expected. You can see it clearly from the road which is nice.

Just come for something to eat at harvester and took a snap of the badge. Looks really good but the writing needs moving up and the old badge can be seen still or should I say the dirty mark from it.

Can't link my twitter pick so you will have to click the link.
