I didn't take the picture by the way! Just sharing

Re: Nat's statue unveiling
It was an nice little ceremony. Sculptor went on a bit too much about himself as well as Nat but he's done a cracking job so well done to him.

It's fantastic. The sculptor has somehow managed to encapsulate Nat's strength of persona, pride and decency into it as well as his physical attributes and likeness.

Popped up to have a look today, it's actually really impressive. Looks great, and well pleased the brick I bought is right next to Anelka's!

Actually, noticed that quite a few of them with gold lettering are beginning to wash out. Not sure if there are any plans to rectify this.

Is that your dog general?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

That's an excellent statue. Whoever did that made a cracking job of it, unlike the clown who did the Dibnah one in town.

It's my dog in the picture, not the name immortalised in the brickwork..Lord Kangana wrote:Is that your dog general?

I can see a "lucky rub of Nat's boot" becoming a part of the pre-match ritual....
What a hero, What a man...... Ooooh, what a bad foul...

Re: Nat's statue unveiling
I like the statue. The only thing I'm pissed off at is that I bought a brick for my Mum and Dad and they got an invitation to the unveiling as a bonus for buying the brick. Unfortunately they brought the unveiling forward from Tuesday to Saturday. My mum is quite ill at the moment and was unable to attend on Saturday but she would have been okay tomorrow (she's on cyclical medication).

Re: Nat's statue unveiling
It's a super statue, top marks to the club for the way it's been done.
I'm sure if you have a long zoom and shoot the image from a distance you can get Nat with Winter Hill in the background.
I like the idea of a a 'lucky rub' of Nat's Boot as a match day ritual
They have a statue of Brian Clough in Nottingham City Centre ....I rather sadly say 'alright Brian' whenever I walk past him !!!
I might do the same for Nat..a simple 'alright Nat'
My image of Nat

A couple of images of Cloughie

Re: Nat's statue unveiling
The unveiling ceremony was carried out in a most professional manner including speeches by Eddie Davies, Garty, the sculptor, Nat's son and the Mayor of Bolton, concluded in prayer by the club Chaplain. Why anyone thought that it'd be a good idea to have a grown man dressed as a pantomime lion there is anyone's guess. Fine for kids' parties, not at all suited to a ceremony such as this. Surely the opportunity to get rid of this embarrassing anachronism presented itself pre-season when McGreavy, the drummers and the likes were given the order of the boot?!

If we're going to have a mascot, surely it should be a pig? Or a dinosaur wearing a sash...
