(QP)R We Gonna Pick Up Our First Win Of The Season?

Re: (QP)R We Gonna Pick Up Our First Win Of The Season?
I don't expect him to come out and slag players off at this stage in the season but that is just taking the piss. I've seen every game this season (Burnley on TV) and while not panicking I'm extremely unimpressed. If he carries on with this calm 'I'm not bothered about points' bollocks I'll be rapidly going off him.
Just like last week we started OK but without offering any attacking threat and then faded. He seems to think the first 6 games are included in pre-season and that's how they played today. Very little urgency, appalling 2nd half, and QPR weren't even any good.

QPR were not impressive either, Apart from the passing move that lead to the goal, They didn't really offer any threat to us.
I don't understand why, As a team of players who train together daily, We look so useless putting together passing moves like that ourselves. It's like a load of strangers have rocked up at the local park and offered the team playing there a game.

Dougie has pissed me off today but he has also proved he can turn around a failing team and make them tough to beat. He seems to have regressed a bit this season but too early to start slagging him. I'm reet fooked off right now though!plymouth wanderer wrote:Peter Thompson wrote:He doesn't know any better he's as deluded & clueless as the previous manager....LeverEnd wrote:After all the accusations of drug taking and insulting of people's eyesight I'd like to direct you to Dougie's comments on the game. aye - but why he had to turn us back into a failing team in order to prove he can turn us round a second time, I don't know!

He did Ok today though, can't blame him all the time. What worries me most is our toothless attack. Conceding once to a team with QPR's attacking options is to be anticipated, not getting at their suspect defence is criminal. Dunne makes Wheater look like Usain Bolt, but we gave him an easy ride, long balls that wer easy for him, not runnign at him to beat him and not getting behind him.plymouth wanderer wrote:Same here mate

Shows how essential Eagles is, we really need him back at Blackburn. Lee has been poor, neat and tidy but no incisive runs or passes. typical passage of play is he gets it on the wing, full back looks at him, he cuts in, has no idea what to do so it gets passed sideways or back. Slight variation is where Beckford makes a run for him and he treats him like the invisible man. Infuriating. Moritz has to be fit for the next home game and needs to be in for Lee.

Re: (QP)R We Gonna Pick Up Our First Win Of The Season?
The way I saw it was that we set out to win a midfield battle and try to nullify their attacking play. Their goal apart I'd say we were pretty successful there. The real issue is that Dougie seems to have forgotten that you have to score a goal to win a game. We sacrificed any hope of scoring to nullify QPR. I understand trying to do that against Man Utd/Barcelona et al, but home to QPR in the Championship says a lot about how shit we must be going forwards.IggyTheDawgster wrote:

As for PT et al. They have a right to moan about the last couple of matches. I think some of us take a little exception to the fact they revel in the misery and seem to appear here in seconds to moan, yet are usually absent when things are a little better. Consistent, but rather boring reading the same post after every game we don't win.
Re: (QP)R We Gonna Pick Up Our First Win Of The Season?
To be fair, we kept QPR fairly quiet up top and Bogdan had very little to do. If we had Eagles playing and we actually created something we would have probably won that game. We missed Pratleys energy today aswell.
We have a few problems to sort out but we are hardly getting battered every week. The way some are talking on here, you would think we was played off the park today and lost by 4 or 5.

Hold off on Dougie we are only 4 games in.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

That's the point though. We WEREN'T played off the park by any stretch of the imagination and should have at least got a goal ourselves.ChrisC wrote:To be fair, we kept QPR fairly quiet up top and Bogdan had very little to do. 71 minutes until he realized something needed to change.
As soon as he did change it though we looked a lot more threatening, but it was too late by then.

Believe me I'm as passionate as the next fan and absolutely love it when we win, but I can't accept mediocrity - we had enough of that in the 80's....which is where we are heading unless we get a manager in who can stop the alarming downward spiral, its one thing struggling in the premiership, but struggling in the championship to me is not acceptable.
So jog on sunshine....

Maybe it's a case of 'Look Eddie!!! Look, I need some players so I don't have to play 7-1-2.'

Fair comment Iggy, but I didn't see us scoring full stop no matter when the changes came.
We don't have enough creativity in the team to drive us forward and score goals without Eagles. We just pass sideways or backwards or worse still, hoof it. Hall showed a few flashes but even then Davies couldn't finish it and nobody was within a 5 mile radius when Hall put the only quality cross of the game into the box.
Re: (QP)R We Gonna Pick Up Our First Win Of The Season?
hmmm - but given dougie's impressive haul of 2pts from 12 - is eddie likely to think we will get promoted and he'll get any of his money back on the players he is asked to buy?LeverEnd wrote:Yep just far too negative.IggyTheDawgster wrote:That's the point though. I'm just thinking Freedmans 'Coyle' moment happened last season and we all know what came next!!
I'll state right now what I think of Freedman
He's never going to be a Jimmy Armfield/Ian Greaves/Bruce Rioch/Big Sam to us, mid table mediocre manager at best.

"Great approach play" is not what I saw today. There isn't a single fan in the ground, Bolton or QPR, who could possibly have thought that our approach play was even "decent", never mind "great". It was awful.

Don't get me started on the hoofing.....Drives me insane, Bogdan was bad for it today too when he could have just passed it out to a defender to get play started, Instead opting to punt it up, Get intercepted by a QPR defender and then we're on the backfoot defending again.ChrisC wrote:IggyTheDawgster wrote:That's the point though. Hall does look exciting and should have started for me today, Everything went down the left with Tierney doing his best to cross but no end result.
I don't see the problem in trying the young players from the start, I mean we lost anyway, Might as well have given them a bloody chance.
