Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Couldn't bowl to save my life, though I wasn't a bad bat. Cricket was really only interesting when I was actually batting, which was probably never more than 5% of the time spent 'playing' the game. It may seem heresy but I much preferred playing baseball and softball when I got over here - a couple of hours exercise and then off to the bar.Bruce Rioja wrote:I take it that we were no Garfield Sobers then, Monty?!Montreal Wanderer wrote:As a game, it was pretty tedious if you did compete and spent alternate overs at mid-wicket and extra cover for most of an afternoon....William the White wrote:Well - today showed the ability of Test Cricket to make time pass very, very slowly, with very little of consequence happening...

because it's the last day and each day has a pre-set number of overs (usually about 90).Bruce Rioja wrote:Help me out here - how come we've got a limited amount of overs to knock them off in?thebish wrote:meh.... petering out to a lame, tame and boring draw!!!Worthy4England wrote:Interesting declaration....103 off 17 with 8 wickets left...
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Australia are playing very negatively now - spreading the field and bowling to save runs...
what happened to - you have to go out and try to win it??
this morning they were wanking on about us playing negatively!!

That's not quite right. There are a minimum of 90 overs in a day, until the last day. In the last hour of the last day, there's a minimum of 20 overs to bowl, subject to an overall minimum of 90.thebish wrote:because it's the last day and each day has a pre-set number of overs (usually about 90).Bruce Rioja wrote:Help me out here - how come we've got a limited amount of overs to knock them off in?thebish wrote:meh.... petering out to a lame, tame and boring draw!!!Worthy4England wrote:Interesting declaration....103 off 17 with 8 wickets left...
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
nope - hence they can bowl wide... also - they can scatter the field...Bruce Rioja wrote:Are we employing one day rules here?thebish wrote:we'll be off for bad light with 7 needed off the last two overs...
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
yeah - i know - that's why i said "about" 90 - there are so many variations and permutations for rain, catching up with previous delays - lopping some off for changes of innings that I couldn't be arsed!!Worthy4England wrote:That's not quite right. Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
nahhh - if it goes down to the level they went off for earlier in the test - then they will have to go off... Oz dragging their feet to play for light (not very positive!) - there'd be a riot if they went off for light, surely!Bruce Rioja wrote:I meant in terms of the light really.thebish wrote:nope - hence they can bowl wide... also - they can scatter the field...Bruce Rioja wrote:Are we employing one day rules here?thebish wrote:we'll be off for bad light with 7 needed off the last two overs...
