What's happened to Eagles?

What's happened to Eagles?

Last I knew he had a slightly bent ankle and was 50/50 for the next match... that was three matches ago. :conf:
That's not a leopard!

Based on how bad he looked when he hurt it, I thought it would be a few weeks. Think Dougie's just been saying that so that the other teams prepared for Eagles in the hope that we'd catch them by surprise with formation/starting XI

In the Tranmere game, according to BBC . Bolton midfielder Chris Eagles could feature for the first time since the opening day of the season after recovering from an ankle injury. 8)

In spite of his failings I'm still a massive Chris Eagles fan. He's probably our only 'match winner' at the moment and even on his most lacklustre days he's still capable of producing that one moment of magic.

Saturday's game was crying out for a bit of inventiveness and we looked lethargic going forward. He's even one of our most influential players as a defender with many teams holding back because they're worried about his pace.

We need him (and Mark Davies) back soon as.

But you knew that anyway.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Just hope he doesn't get taken down early on by a Tranmere player wanting to show he's up for a match with their 'big rivals' (Seriously, what is that all about?)
''Amazing! Out of nothing Bolton are level. A quick throw, Kevin Nolan keeps play alive in the box and finds Kevin Davies on the left who lashes a shot under Oliver Kahn.''

BBC are guessing by scraping local news sites. They've probably said he's been in contention for the last three games. Not sure I'd risk him against Tranmere, unless it's the sort of injury that a 20-minute runabout could help. We need him back in the league.

The Guardian recently did a decent job of explaining this.

Ahhh, cheers bud. All of a sudden I hate Tranmere!

Would you Adam and Eve it? I was half way through writing an article for a football blog about that very thing!

I was also writing about the odd rivalry between us and Swindon which really REALLY 'flourished' for a while.

Aldo's never been short of showing his lack of class has he? Those of us who remember his 'celebrations' after the Liverpool - Forest cup semi Brian Laws oggie certainly weren't surprised when he ran the length of our fans mouthing 'Straight Baccckkckcckk Down' after the c*nts equalised in the final game of 100pts/100goals.

He's a c*nt all right and I only need to hear the word 'Tranmere' and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

There's slightly more of a story to it than the Grauniad makes out: we were similar-sized, upward-looking third-tier clubs (covered by the same local TV channel) for a couple of years before they got promoted in 91, and 10 years later Andy Parkinson went straight through Jussi with an injurious challenge that did nothing for relations...

Aye and that wanger Jonh 'E' King too.

The away end at Prenton which had the fence normally used for trapping Nazi fleeing American motorcylcists and just the general horribleness of the place.

We went there once for a FRT game (I think) and it was called off without 20 minutes to kick off due to the weather.

Getting out of the car we were informed by a local bobby 'Game's off lars, so get backkk in yer ccccar and fuccckkkk off 'ome.'

How delightful.

Hate 'em.

Every dog has his day, but you don't ever forget. John Aldridge was way, way out of order jumping around like he did in front of us. They deserved to beat us over the two legs but there was no need for that. The year after that, we went back and turned Aldridge over then got promoted. Now I'm managing in the Premiership and he's doing Merseyside radio, so I think we know whose management style's the best.
