Re: Tuesday's Trip to Tranmere
Odelusi did well and got a ball into the box, commentator saying he should have shot. Tranmere back again and we have to clear in a hurry. Back again and it's headed wide. Not yer actual hammering just yet. Come on you Whites, er Oranges, er...anyway, we're second best right now. Tranmere really making it look important to them. Hope we're just letting em run out of fizz because we've done a lot of not much so far. Kamara does well, get forward and gets it blocked. Pratley and Mears combine and win a throw near their flag. Odelusi involved but it's all fits anbd starts so far. Mills gets in it but back it comes for Knight to clear.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Tuesday's Trip to Tranmere
Kamara wins it back after another Tranmere surge before Mears gets a good cross in and Eaves shot is blocked for a corner. Good ball but nobody on the end before the keeper collects s second ball in to the box. Tranmere sounding really lively as Baptiste gets away with one. Another corner to them and...it comes in and Baptiste clears well. Hall flies at them before he gets scythed down and wind a free kick. Eaves gets a touch but it's cleared before Hall misses the post by a foot.

Only Steve Taylor I can remember played mid seventies, about 3-4 seasons, striker but more a back up player than a regular.

He gave Whatmore a run for his money in those days, scored a bagful and was the fastest white man I remember seeing.
Missed a Blackpool away game one Boxing Day coz he was found in a hedge with an empty bottle of whisky that morning.

Re: Tuesday's Trip to Tranmere
Tranmere have another go and an overhead effort not too far away as Lonergan watches it out. Throw us but a goal kick results. Knight clears before they come again and win a throw near our flag. Kumas figures before we have to give away another corner. Corner headed clear by Mills and the second attempt is wildly over for a goal kick. Not sounding a case of classy Bolton running the game yet. A goal now would be nice as Baptiste sends it our for another throw. Free kick to them in a twitchy area and....Baptiste heads it first, then Mills before it's cleared. Come on Bolton, it's fxckin Tranmere.
Medo feeds Mears, then Hall but the cross goes out for a goalkick.

He never really made it though, Went to Oldham if I remember correctly. Then played for nearly every Lower league team in the North West.

Couldn't believe it as a kid when we got shot of him to Oldham. Over a career spanning 20 yeas he averaged one goal in three.bobo the clown wrote:Which Steve Taylor ? .... Re: Tuesday's Trip to Tranmere
Craig Revel Horwood foxtrots past Kamara and the resulting effort is scrambled away for a corner. Here they come again and our lot badly in need of a bolloxing at half time from the sound of it. They're all over us. Knight wins the ball and a goal kick with a sliding tackle. Mears get Hall forward but it comes to naught. Corner them again and Mills clears with a diving header before we set off on a break via Odleusi. Eight to half time as we get a free kick and.....Baptiste get one against him. Trans come again and they're best value for money this half. Are we saving all our box of fireworks for the second half? Tranmere have a free kick before we clear into cyberspace where Eaves stands out like a Jaffa in a box of golf balls. Lonergan has to punch it away and we can't get the ball. Tranmere again before Mills clears and Pratley gets in there. Mears Hall, Medo, Pratley and our pressure wins a corner. Mears, Hall, Baptiste, Odelusi..Hall, Baptiste, Mears...and it all comes to naught. Half time looming and about the only real good news is no score to them. Pratley, Kamara, and....nothing.

Re: Tuesday's Trip to Tranmere
Final couple of minutes to go as Mears feeds Hall but support lacking. The Trannies won't be over impressed with our quality team so far. Kumas figures before we clear and Odelusi wins a throw. Cleared by them and Mears feed Pratley before flag goes up for a goal kick. AND.....they fxcking score on the whistle. Sloppy, and were down 1-0.
