You are supposed to say "zoo, zoo, zoo" and then that "you (we) can come too, too, too".thebish wrote:'tis a sunny day and i am off to the zoo!
AND might I add, you were supposed to tell us yesterday !!

Going with youngest daughter to Leonard Cohen in Manchester Arena.
Looking forward to a couple of hours semi-musical exploration of life amongst 'the garbage and the flowers'.

Went to the grill on the alley in Manchester.
Shared a decent chateaubriand with the missus and washed down with a crisp Sancerre, with a little snort of Port for afters.
Wonderful.

It was fantastic. Great virtuoso musicians, as usual, angelic female backing vocals, and those familiar but still achingly truthful songs of loss and desire and betrayal and Hallelujah, delivered in that voice that these days seems hatched from the dust of a million ashtrays and a small pond of brandy. A magnificent gig with 40 minutes of encores. The 22 year old came home, with no need to seek out gin and razor blades, but staying up with me and a bottle of red until 1.30am playing assorted Cohen. And woke up this morning to play Suzanne before breakfast...Harry Genshaw wrote:bobo the clown wrote:Hide the sharp objects and empty the medicine cabinet and make sure she keeps off the gin afterwards Billy.William the White wrote:Going with youngest daughter to Leonard Cohen in Manchester Arena.

40 minutes of encores.
Got to be honest, I couldn't listen to 40 minutes full stop, Will.

I get to spend the next two weeks in the arse end of nowhere. Kings Lynn to be precise. It's 'quite nice', and I like away jobs because of nice meals on expenses, but as much as you might think Bolton is a shit hole it makes you appreciate that you're only 20 minutes on a train to Manchester, and then only another 2 hours to London. I also get to do a public sector audit which I have literally no experience of, joy.

If you could do me the favour of finding a huge hole in their HR processes and operation I'd be extremely grateful.Beefheart wrote:I get to spend the next two weeks in the arse end of nowhere. Outside of the process of joiners/leavers, I wouldn't have a clue.bobo the clown wrote:If you could do me the favour of finding a huge hole in their HR processes and operation I'd be extremely grateful.Beefheart wrote:I get to spend the next two weeks in the arse end of nowhere. "I have concerns about your HR Governance processes ... ".
"Your performance management systems seem not to be being implemented consistently ...".
"Your training and development systems don't appear to be offering value for money. I advise you to introduce a review and assessment procedure focusing on commercial returns from your expenditure and genuine improvement of your staff. I believe I know someone ..."

Blind Tiger in Bolton to watch excellent live reggae band Jeremiah Ferrari. Seen them several times, worth checking out if you like that kind of music.

did the old East London alternative walking tour last night, was alright. primarily about the street art around Spitalfields/Brick Lane/Shoreditch which was interesting although they didnt show me much i hadnt looked at before, was good to learn a bit about the artists tho. good way to spend a few hours and meet people, pay what you want too.

The Octagon. An Inspector Calls by J.B. Preiestley, a renowned socialist, directed by David Thacker, a man that uses plays to promote the socialist agenda at any opportunity. I'll do my best not to stand up, mid scene, shouting "Er, excuse me, can I just stop you there?"
