i had to support them extra good during the megson out era to counter the m0ngs. but they eventually got their way and coyle came in and everyone were all 'we'll be ok' while he fecked em up and took em down. so, to me , he's ok.
if he starts clapping and hiring assistant towel holders that have no previous employment history, then he can probably feck off.
but he seems sensible enough to not do that.

We did a thread on that. It was generally decided Coyle < Megson.

Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
Even if its just scapegoating it Dougie needs to drop Knight. Maybe its just change for changes sake but we need a fresh start at the back and it might make out next home game a little less poisonous then I predict it will be..
Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
for those who go to the games - leaving aside his actual personal performance - how does Knight carry himself as captain?

Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
Freedman just isn't a good manager and we're going nowhere with him in charge. Not only are his tactics awful, he seems incapable of inspiring the team, so he fails on all counts. I always think it's harsh to sack a manager so early in the season but we really are hopeless and the sooner he's replaced, the better. If he was sacked tonight, I certainly wouldn't be complaining.

We heard you the first 3 times today and the countless other times you have said this. It's depressing enough at the moment SF without you rubbing it in.SmokinFrazier wrote:Freedman just isn't a good manager and we're going nowhere with him in charge. Dougie's not going anywhere - he won't be resigning and we won't be sacking him (we couldn't afford to anyway!) - so - we'll have to live with the idea that he is our manager for a while...

I'm not rubbing it in. I want us to win every single game we play in and I'm gutted we lost, but you either accept that there needs to be a change or bury your head in the sand. Why should anyone defend such a useless manager?ChrisC wrote:We heard you the first 3 times today and the countless other times you have said this. well - that's one way to look at it - but GIVEN he's going nowhere - it seems equally pointless to demand his head several times a day!SmokinFrazier wrote:I'm not rubbing it in. Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
We've got two home games up next. If we don't win either of those, the crowd will have turned on Freedman and they'll force Gartside's hand. We're already 11 points behind Blackpool with only 5 games gone. We can't afford to react slowly.thebish wrote:well - that's one way to look at it - but GIVEN he's going nowhere - it seems equally pointless to demand his head several times a day!SmokinFrazier wrote:I'm not rubbing it in. Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
Again, a lot of truth here. Felt to me against QPR that many were waiting to be impressed, and it's a dangerous situation when you get the spectating equivalent of "floating voters". They may start by scapegoating players rather than the manager but it's not long till what was very recently the best fortress we've had in a generation becomes a place the players hate to be. And that isn't good considering that in away games we appear to be unutterably w*nk.SmokinFrazier wrote:We've got two home games up next. There'll be a fortnight of hand-wringing and forum face-offs and hopeful managerial quotes but the first 10 minutes of that first home game will say a hell of a lot more. And Leeds will not be easy opponents.
Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
if we haven't got the cash to sign players - how on earth have we got the cash to sack the manager??SmokinFrazier wrote:We've got two home games up next.
