Mrs BP has recorded X Factor and is currently 'warming up' by flicking through the music channels on Sky, with Miss BP. I can feel my blood pressure rising by the second.

Mr GG is similarly scathing about X factor, he laughs when I get a bit teary over the contestants sob stories...Burnden Paddock wrote:Must. Not. Re: What are you watching tonight?
Tbf it's not just you 'ladies' that get teary. Apparently, my brother in law has been known to shed a few tears over some of the sob stories. Pity we were down at his place in Essex last weekend and not this. I would love to have ripped into him for crying over X Factor.Gooner Girl wrote:Mr GG is similarly scathing about X factor, he laughs when I get a bit teary over the contestants sob stories...Burnden Paddock wrote:Must. Re: What are you watching tonight?
I don't think that anyone expected us to be in this position. It's bad at the moment, but far from the worst that i've seen here. When you've slipped down from Division 1 to Division 4 (in old money) and bounced back into the PL in the space of 15 years and experienced some real shite on the way, then you know that this is just a blip, in relative terms. As was said in the match thread, BWFC (as I suspect are most teams) is in the blood. Reet i'm off to watch X Factor, sorry I mean something dead manly.Gooner Girl wrote:Sorry, I am a bit gutted for you lot actually so shouldn't tease. Fingers crossed we will be watching your lot put 5 past spurs this time next year on MOTD.

In Dougie we want to trust!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
we watched 'Rock of Ages' the other night. Think mama mia with old school rock ballads. Some laugh out loud moments, particularly from Tom Cruise, but the funniest thing in it (imo), is the baboon.
At the end, I noticed it had a '12' cert. Now it maybe my age, but I wouldn't want my 12 yr old watching it. (not that I've got one anymore....All now well older
).

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Last night I watched 12 Angry Men. Absolutely brilliant. I'm somewhat taken back though that I'd never even heard of it until it was recommended to me by the Latvian at work (who's here to steal a job off of Hobo
). It's not as though it's a recent release either, the bloody thing was made in 1957.
I'd absolutely love it, love it if the Octagon, or indeed any other local theatre, decided to run out as live version.

It works brilliantly on stage. The last production I saw was at Bristol Old Vic, directed by Harold Pinter, back in the mid 1990s. Too big a cast for most regional theatres these days.Bruce Rioja wrote:Last night I watched 12 Angry Men. Absolutely brilliant. Yeah, that crossed my mind. I'd absolutely love to see it live though.William the White wrote: It works brilliantly on stage. The last production I saw was at Bristol Old Vic, directed by Harold Pinter, back in the mid 1990s. Too big a cast for most regional theatres these days.

I once saw it performed by the world's smallest theatre on the back of a motorbike and sidecar. Hilarious takeoff of a brilliant film.William the White wrote:It works brilliantly on stage. And it so happens we're away at Brum on Saturday 5th. Fancy an away day?

A good chance to see the new library as well - which is attracting raves and reservations among architecture critics.

Let's see if we can get an outing together... Shall I check the usual suspects?
