If he goes. 24 hours to spend it? Not sure we would.

don't forget - and you lambasted the idea at the time - Freedman has a history of registering an interest in players and "throwing his hat in the ring" even when he has no cash at all... I'd be staggered if dougie and the club have not already got some quite strong steerage about players who could be snapped up fairly pronto should cash arrive from the sale of (say) Ngog...
I'm sure Dougie knows who he wants. But will he be given the money?

We have to assume so I guess but the issue is that doing deals so close to the deadline is fraught with problems.

We sold Nolan near the end of the January deadline fully expecting to sign Veloso for example.

Nixon says Ngog is on a 'Swansea shortlist' so that might not be anywhere near certain yet.

Is Veloso still available?

Swansea manager just confirmed on MOTD2 that he was in for a certain striker which he hopes will be completed.

is that a FACT? I suspect you might be wrong - and the cash will be spent - either on purchases (or as DSB helpfully suggests) on decent wages for a decent loan player or two...

If Dougie sells Ngog then announces he's used the funds to extend Zat Knight's contract, then I'll be in the sack him camp

ahhhh - doesn't it take you back?? still - we DID land Sean Davies!! WOOT!
BOLTON are poised to break the club transfer record for a second time in seven months with a £12m swoop for Sporting Lisbon star, Miguel Veloso.

And Wanderers could offer Swedish legend Henrik Larsson a brief Premier League return.

New skipper Kevin Davies will, however, stay at the Reebok despite interest from City and Blackburn.

It's likely to be a hectic last day of transfer dealing for manager Gary Megson, who was delighted by his team's battling victory over Spurs.

Last week, Megson claimed the deal for Veloso was "dead in the water." But a big increase in the transfer fee has apparently breathed new life into the deal.

It would beat the £10m paid to Toulouse last summer for Larsson's fellow Swede, Johan Elmander.

And Megson is also strong favourite to clinch a £1.5m swoop for Portsmouth's former Fulham midfielder Sean Davies.

That's a fact. Or a fax. Depending on how you look at it.

What Gartside said at the time!

F*ck me we had some money to burn then. Shame we gave it to that ginger goon.

Swansea are in for Odemdrivedowntolondontosignforqpreventhoughadealisntagreedemwingiemabob aswell I believe.. Him or Ngog I'm guessing.

WBA want over 2 mill for him and is over 30 but scores goals compared to Ngog being young and very few goals.

last year of contract, suspect we won't get more than £2m if that for Ngog. Quite what you can get for that we await to see - probably that lad from Peterboro

Interesting how people are buying into the idea that you can be too good for a lesser league. Would make it an interesting close season if Dougie achieves promotion with a team of players better suited to the Championship

stats say he ended his Liverpool career at the end of the 2010–11 season with a record of 19 goals in 94 games. Given many of these were probably subs appearance as Torres was in his pomp, suggests otherwise. Never an out and out goal scoring striker but our best technically gifted player by a country mile.

Yep. After doing all that from the bench at Liverpool, he also scores 12 in 77 for us with a fair few tap in's missed. That said, the service he's had at for long stretches during his Bolton stay has been appalling. We've just never had a play-maker that's on the same wavelength.

In fact, scratch that. We've never had a play-maker whilst he's been here.

If we sell Ngog I'm giving up on football. There'd be no way back from that. :(
