Just back from watching Caro Emerald at the Lowry. What a fantastic performer, with a really talented band. Very stylish set, great lighting as well, but her voice is something else. Absolutely loved it.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
That sounds fun in theory, I think it *might* be the kind of thing that could attract the 'I'll shout something out because I'm a dickhead and I think I'm funny' type of people.General Mannerheim wrote:been looking forward to watching Breaking Bad tonight at a live outdoor screening at the Boxpark Shoreditch, weathers wank tho

back home now...thebish wrote:well - after wet and gloomy start to the day, the sun has come out and the skies have cleared - so am off out for a paddle up the Teign Estuary... might even take a picnic!
paddled around the backwaters of Industrial Newton Abbot and around the side of the Racecourse... saw shopping trollies and old engines lurking in the depths - but also heron, egret, swans, geese, ducks and 3 kingfisher sightings (no - not lurking in the depths!)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

That is, so obviously, a Glide-over-the-stuff-hidden-in-the-depths-kayak. It comes equipped with standard depth charges and reinforced neoprene wetsuit.Bruce Rioja wrote:And I hope that that's an Estuary Kayak. If not!

Looks like a peaceful, relaxing afternoon. Unlike mine spent in the pouring rain teaching 20 excitable 9 year olds how to play hockey.thebish wrote:back home now...thebish wrote:well - after wet and gloomy start to the day, the sun has come out and the skies have cleared - so am off out for a paddle up the Teign Estuary... might even take a picnic!

Re: Where are you going tonight?
well - it's a sea kayak and the estuary is basically full of sea water! when the tide is in - so I kinda hoped that was allowed...Bruce Rioja wrote:And I hope that that's an Estuary Kayak. If not!

Re: Where are you going tonight?
they were pointed out last time I posted a picture of the sea-kayak... as I said then - boating is what crocs are FOR!bobo the clown wrote:... but I spotted crocs on the facebook pics !! Oh dear Rev.Bruce Rioja wrote:And I hope that that's an Estuary Kayak. If not!

as for Romford... hmmm... not sure you'd get any kind of boat through Romford on the River Rom!!

there were two quite HUGE rusting engine hulks that business had obviously gone to great trouble to heft over the back into the river!! they were totall submerged on the way upstream (tide going out - so nice exercise against the tide) - and eerily breaking the surface like underwater transformers on the way back!
(the bag is my picnic - and the sea-kayak has a handy tinnie-holder - I was supping the beer on the way back - floating in a leisurely manner when I took that photo...)

espadrilles?? get you!!

and - boat shoes??? you mean like those posh-knobby pretend sailors who inhabit pubs around marinas?

crocs ARE boat shoes - it's what they are for!! the water runs in and out of the holes - ideal for launching and the opposite of launching!
