As you've only just started posting, in case you weren't lurking, Frazier has said he'd be happy to appoint Tony Pulis. I wouldn't, but he would.xxxxxx wrote:And who exactly do we get to replace him?SmokinFrazier wrote:Freedman should be sacked before the Derby game. It costs money to get a good manager in, which we do not have. I'm not saying that players are all to blame, but Dougie has had a terrible squad handed to him.... and had no money to get better in.
Yes dougie had a poor squad handed to him, but has brought in and re signed enough players to get results. I agree that we have not enough money to sack him and pay compensation, then replace him. But FFS he has more than enough talent at his disposal to improve results. If things don't improve over the next few games, then he has to go, regardless of cost.

Actually taking off a terrible cb and replacing him with striker is a good change when we're losing 1-0.... it also meant putting ream at cb instead of Knight, which isn't a bad thing.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:..and then those defenders ate made captain.xxxxxx wrote:It isn't.... when certain defenders that have been here for years are making silly mistakes every game.BL3 wrote:Have a look at the top of the table and let us know how much they've spent. Re: Freedman out!
So you're giving him credit for making the change but not criticising him for picking him in the first place? Why doesn't he play the central defender who's currently playing at right back, at centre half?xxxxxx wrote:Actually taking off a terrible cb and replacing him with striker is a good change when we're losing 1-0.... it also meant putting ream at cb instead of Knight, which isn't a bad thing.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:..and then those defenders ate made captain.xxxxxx wrote:It isn't.... when certain defenders that have been here for years are making silly mistakes every game.BL3 wrote:Have a look at the top of the table and let us know how much they've spent. I just give up. So his captain is shit, but he pucks him anyway, and the realises half way through s game he's losing that a better strategy is... Re: Freedman out!
Worst start in the league since 1963.
That is pretty good going. Its up against some intense competition...
Worse than last season (really?)
Worse than the season before (really? really really? Even with that horrible opening fixture list?)
Worse than anything Megson shat out (I think I need a lie down)
Worse than Sammy Lee (seriously, when You're getting to this point, you know something is going seriously wrong)
Worse than the season Todd was sacked in, and Big Sam took over (it looked pretty bad back then, hindsight can be a wonderful thing)
Worse than Todd and McFarland (need I go on?)
Worse than any of the 80's seasons starts (I'm starting to worry that this stat is wrong).
I have no personal animosity towards him at all, but he's got Derby for me.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Freedman out!
I think he'll get longer, novmber perhaps.
But
He's signed shite
He's signed a player and destroyed him by shoehorning him in at full back
He's given a contract to some shite
And to top it off he's made the man synonymous with 5 years of defensive wank the captains armboard
I really dont want to see us chop and change managers but i cant see how it isnt going to be forced soon.
Its a shame we cant sack the players.

Re: Freedman out!
As utterly clueless as we've looked, both individually and collectively, and especially for these past three games, I reckon he'll have until mid November. If he hasn't turned things around rather markedly by then we'll make a change in time to give the new guy a chance to take stock ahead of the January window.
My apologies for having the temerity to interject with a spittle-free post.

i think that's what might happen - IF the tide doesn't turn - and I still think it will...
however - if we're skint now - then we'll still be skint in January...

Re: Freedman out!
This is the same manager who last season brought us to within a whisker of the play offs, and built the Crystal Palace squad that Ian Hollaway took up through the play offs. I think his pedigree stands up pretty well and given time he will move Bolton forward.
Bolton has never been a club to fire managers on a whim, and now would be the wrong time to sack DF. The only time frequently changing the manager works is if you hand him a huge bank balance, given we are broke unless anyone has £20,000,000 to kiss good bye to then allowing DF time is the best option we have at the moment.
Assuming the Dougie out brigade think we will get relegated under Dougie, here is a sense of perspective, 4 of our games have been against teams in the top six 3 losses and a draw. If Reading win tomorrow they move into the top six and with Rhodes Blackburn are going to be challenging for a play off place this year.
The real question is where should Bolton be come the end of the season? My opinion in this league and given our squad and financial resources anywhere between 8 and 13 would be a satisfactory, any higher and we will of over performed any lower and questions should be asked.
I realise this point of view will be contraversial to those who think we have both the squad and resources capable of getting automatic promotion.

Re: Freedman out!
Got to be a grim start but, tin hat on, If he can get us playing like the end of last season, and sooner, then we're in with a chance, tin hat off. Lots of rumours coming out that he may have lost the dressing room, can't get rid cos we don't have funds for replacements. Get the team playing 90 minutes and not just a few spells here and there. There has to be an answer somewhere why we nearly reached the play-offs but so far haven't done sod all. Give Dougie until Christmas and see where we are. But the important thing is to get behind the team, even when losing.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Re: Freedman out!
Interesting if he has lost the dressing room, he would be the second successive manager to do so with largely the same core of senior players. The board should back the manager and look to get rid of the players who clearly don't have the mental strength to put in a performance when the going gets tough.Gravedigger wrote:Got to be a grim start but, tin hat on, If he can get us playing like the end of last season, and sooner, then we're in with a chance, tin hat off. Re: Freedman out!
Well, he hasn't done himself any favours by pointing out very publicly that he's looking to move players on but that he's basically stuck with them. That he then has to stand in front of the same players in a motivational capacity would be laughable if it was happening elsewhere. What does he say to them? We're all in this together?gizmothevoomer wrote:Interesting if he has lost the dressing room, he would be the second successive manager to do so with largely the same core of senior players.
