Saturday’s 5-1 victory at Millwall has left the Rams with a 100 per cent record from four away games this season.

Three of the wins have come in the Championship, making it the first time since 1912 that Derby have won their first three away games of a league campaign.

In 1912, the Rams won at Sunderland, Tottenham and Notts County before losing at Aston Villa.

No Derby team in the club’s 129-year history has won four successive away league games from the start of a season, a feat the present team could achieve when they face Bolton Wanderers tomorrow night.

Ive been really impressed by Ream lately, actually playing like he has something to prove (which he does)

But I hate the formation with him infront of the back four, its just too negative at home and is the reason we aren't scoring anything, we need more creativity and with his brief cameo in the back four this weekend I think he deserves another chance (atleast more than Knight does...)

I'd agree that Hall and Eagles could do with starting to offer at leat some creativity assuming moritz is not yet 90 mins fit! Not convinced about ream at CH,like old Ivan having a cuhion behind him may be what he needs to look confident!

My Team:


Ream has put in two MoM performances in two games so if anyone deserves a start it's him. I think wheater has been decent but has been let down by team mates. Eagles and hall are our best wide players atm., Pratley must play in midfield, not much to choose between Medo and Spearing for me. 442, because we need to attack more especially at home and Eaves and Odelusi because or current forwards are inept, so why not? odelusi was superb in the cup and while it's a lower level the confidence and pace he showed is a major asset. Also if we're going to hoof it up field which -despite dougie's comments- we do a hell of a lot, it might be an idea to play someone who can actually win the ball in the air (Eaves).

Honestly if i have to watch Knight hoof it to Beckford once more... Reminds me of Beckham's 70yard -literally from BEHIND the defence on occasion- "passes" to 4ft tall michael owen.

Could also play Cravies instead of Eaves.

Some of these preferred starting line-ups seem tasty but they continue to highlight the problem for me at the moment; nobody knows our best XI, not Dougie and not the fans. Moreover, the changes from one game to another are not minor but often major which, I think, is over-complicating matters. The starting XI needs consistency. We're changing from game to game, as though we have to conform to a counter-formation depending on the team we're playing. And it isn't working. Our strikers are not getting the chance to play together each week and getting to know how one another works. I've just looked at three starting line-ups to face Derby on this page and each one has a different striker with four being used altogether.

The general consensus on Tim Ream at centre-half was that he was comfortably one of the worst players we've ever had in that position. All of a sudden he's been moved into a different position where he's free to just flounce about in-front of the back-four playing five yard passes and he's done ok at it (even if I happen to think it's pointless). Why would anyone want him to revert to where he was?

It's like when Pratley started doing ok in central midfield and Dougie decided he should play right wing. These are shit players who need to be used in incredibly specific roles (and with no expectations at all placed upon them) to be anything better. They are not Javier Zanetti types who can play in about five different positions and do them all well.

Rather a piss poor critique there though Tom, you're usually better than that... playing round pegs in round holes is good management. Darren Pratley is an incredibly limited footballer, but then so was Kevin Nolan, and to an extent Kevin Davies and many more besides. Played to his strength, Darren Pratley has demonstrated his ability to score goals at this level. He's even proven it this season with us. The question shouldn't be "why the f*ck can't D-Pratz play right wing, the stump?" it should be "why the f*ck would you move him from the one position he's good at?".

Please remember, Darren Pratley has scored 66% of our league goals this season in his favoured position. What kind of idiot tinkers with that?
