I read this morning that he needs some sort of surgery that will keep him out for the first 4 months of the season, so West Ham are trying to reduce the fee (rightly so) or bugger him back off to Liverpool.

To be fair to Carroll, he's found some form and who better to manage a player of his style than our former friend ? Though I'd read that he was still really, deep down, seeking to return to Newcastle and was also toying with some of the mega-money clubs in Europe. One thing's for sure Rodgers doesn't fancy him.

We'd be in danger of playing "the English way" then ... & terrifying the defences so used to taking their time and strolling about.

Andy Carroll would be a good signing for them. Pretty sure he's England material but then again I don't pretend to know how to play tippy tappy football. Big man up front have him winning as much as possible and then get the team playing from there. Playing out from the back is madness.

As an aside I wouldn't mind a punt on Carlton Cole, seemingly better than what we have now, although i'm sure Hammers fans might disagree.
