The longer we wait, the shorter the list of suitable managers gets. If Freedman is sacked after losing the next 5 games, I find it hard to imagine a manager like Pulis would be interested in joining us because we'd then have lost so many points already, the playoffs would be a very tough ask for any manager. However, if we were to act quickly, we'd still in a position to attract a good manager because everything is still possible for us, including promotion. That is slipping away with every game though and I don't think any good manager will want to stay in the Championship for a season and a half, they'll want to get managing in the Premier League as quickly as possible.

How do we decide who is 'good enough'? If that list is simply of managers who are better than Freedman, it's not exactly a short one. Out of all the managers in the Championship, who are worse than Freedman? Someone like David Flitcroft has a much better win percentage than Freedman, and that's with Barnsley!

Nonsense.
Out of the names that were banded around when Coyle got sacked, we "ended up" with Freedman. If we couldn't get anyone better than him then, we won't now.

IMO you can't just start pulling out short term results as an argument to suggest someone is a better manager.

The Sun for example linked us with Paul Ince today. Paul fecking Ince. Sure he's doing well right now with Blackpool but over a very short term basis. It is in fact very similar to Freedman at Palace last year. Very similar.

Thing is at Blackpool they have one exceptional (for this level) player in Tom Ince then the rest play around him. They probably have a great team spirit, but that like at Palace, is more than likely easier to foster when you're signing waifs and strays with little money. Harder to do at Bolton with players earning lots of money and possibly resenting where they are in some cases.

This is no excuse for where we are, but Bolton with the expectancy and the supposed player power/attitude is a very different beast to Barnsley and Blackpool right now.

Anyhow as we're talking Ince, this is a great excuse to post this!

Hang on, I thought we had no money too?

Surely our team spirit must be off the f*cking charts with all the lack of money we've got?

He wasn't second choice. We 'ended up' with him because inexplicably, we actually wanted him. We even paid Palace compensation to get him.

Just finished a contract so I am free.

Nott sure a twin role for Hobes & I together would be without controversy however, but it'd be fun. If LK fancies joining me we could assure people on on-pitch harmony as we'd be forever at each others throats and there'd be no time for any other fall outs !! 8)

... & rest assured I'd not be taking us into Europe.

Surely all the hope that Freedman is a good manager rests upon a short period though? Freedman has only 16 wins as Bolton manager, yet 10 of those wins came during a 15 game period. If you ignore that run, we've had 6 wins in 32 games under Freedman.

Yeah. ... & if you ignore those 6 he's had no wins whatsoever. Not a one.

Yes, conveniently forgetting that run strengthens your point immeasurably.

I'm not saying you can discount those wins, I'm just pointing out that Freedman's only success came in a same short period, which is what BWFCi was talking about. If he's saying that short term results aren't proof of managerial ability, then where does his faith in Freedman come from?

And bobo, no we wouldn't be f*cking arguing all the time. I'm fed up of your contrary posts, constantly contradicting what I say. We could easily agree if you'd just come over to my way of thinking.
