Paul Merson on sky sports makes me happy, takes me back to a day when we used to be quite good and win things. In my favourite 3 Arsenal players of all time.

Erm, not sure you can have a non religious nativity? Given that 'nativity' is defined as story of Jesus' birth?Prufrock wrote:You said withdrawn from all religious assemblies. Our 'nativity' plays at school were only 'religious' every other year.
And, IMO, it's perfectly reasonable to not want the state teaching your kid school fairy stories as fact, but want to let him or her pretend to be a fairy with his friends. They're not the same thing.
And to pre-empt the 'why send your kid to a fairy school' question. Well, when they have the best facilities, more money, and as a result better results, what are you going to do?
Religion should be kept out of schools IMO.
It's an interesting argument anyway, but when it's taken to the level of not letting the kid be in the play with his mates to make a point it's a bit pathetic.
"Sorry Johnny, you can't be in the play, I know you're heartbroken, but seriously, you're mum looks like a right dick atm, it's hilarious. Jesus is all about this shit"

Anyway, if mum has said he is not to take part in anything religious then surely you have to take her at her word, else if he had been given a part no doubt she would be bleating about how they hadn't followed her wishes and had got him involved in something religious when she had expressly said no. You can't win with some parents. And if she feels that strongly then frankly regardless of whether it was a better school she shouldn't have sent him there. Bit of a muppet if you ask me and the parent every teacher dreads having their child in their class.

That'll be why 'nativity' was in ''s. End of the day it's a kids play, and now the kid's not in it. Yay for point scoring; very Christian. They could always have, you know, asked her.Gooner Girl wrote:Erm, not sure you can have a non religious nativity? And people sending their kids to shit schools to protect their principles is bollocks. Hate seeing politicians use their kids for point scoring.
School 1, Mum 0, Kid who gives a shit, the kid's not important here.

That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Surely, being christians, they'll just forgive his mum for being wrong, turn the other cheek and allow him to be in his play. We're all god's children, remember.

All my (female) colleagues in the office are talking about this stuff. I have to confess, even as a metrosexual male, I had no idea....................

I think I've just found a more embarrassing effort in a big game than Bolton at Wembley. Currently watching Hull losing 52-6 to Huddersfield at HALF TIME in a knockout playoff game

I made a cropped blazer out of an old dress tonight.
None of you will care but I'm proud of it.

I almost made a big fire with a pan of chips once. Just caught it in time.

My, what long arms you have ...
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm meant to be wearing it tonight, if it gets approval from my friends that it's actually wearable!
The shoulders are covered in spikes, it's more of a weapon than a blazer!
