Re: Freedman out!
No need to search for scapegoats when the entire team is playing poorly... and Lee had the kind of game on Tuesday that got him deservedly on the sheet for today...danardif1 wrote:Very true. Everyone seems to see Eagles as the luxury player but Lee is seemingly getting his name on the team sheet mainly because he's foreign (so he's bound to be better than our English plodders right!?!). Much more of a luxury than Eagles and very little product for it as well.BWFC_Insane wrote:Lets face it CYL has been a passenger for the whole of last season and now this.William the White wrote:Lee had a good game on Tues against Derby... He deserved the start today... And from the sound of it had a poor match (like everyone else)...YtarmyYtarmy wrote:I think I'd give him the Yeovil game, lose and I'd sack him. What confuses me is why he continually picks CYL who is having a shocking season, Simon Charlton said he was static at times today, also hes changing it far too much, for my liking. The team needs stability and to try and keep a clean sheet would be a good start ! Also, when the opposition has a corner, why do we put all players in the box (we have done this for a while) but then we have no outlet and it comes straight back. The whole thing is getting depressing, just Glad I'm off to the races next Saturday as opposed to going the game !
That said, I'm not convinced by Freedman. Either way.
Contributing very very little end product and isn't tracking runners.
Other players get abuse for doing a lot more than Lee does.
Re: Freedman out!
As much as it pains me I'd go for Pulis too. Would give the team a bit of grit, organisation and tactical experience. I don't like his team's playing style but when it's this bad I don't care how Bolton play as long as they're winning again.

I agree that getting a new manager does not guarantee survival.plymouth wanderer wrote:davroduk wrote:Surely no one can still believe that he is the right man for the job.
People say that it would cost to much to sack him, but how much will relegation cost us ??
He has to go, and go NOW !!!!!!!!
What makes you think we still won't get relegated regardless
Sticking with this one guarantees relegation.

Seeing as this is our worst start since 1902, I can only assume that this would be an improvement.

Re: Freedman out!
fecking Tony Pulis, with a budget of £0, now THOSE would be dark dark days.
Dawson didn't make the bench today for west brom, loaning him (or just some kind of semi competent defender) would cost less than sacking Freedman.

If we pay freedman (plus lennie et al) off where does it sit ffp wise?

Re: Freedman out!
I don't think we should worry about FFP in that scenario. We don't even know the penalties for not meeting FFP. It could be a smack on the wrist for all we know. Even if it is a harsh punishment I'm not sure it would stand up in a court anyway, given how vague the whole thing is. That isn't to say we should chuck money around.officer_dibble wrote:If we pay freedman (plus lennie et al) off where does it sit ffp wise?
Re: Freedman out!
Someone else mentioned on here before that managerial payoffs aren't included in FFP regulations as it's a cost that can be attributed to a 'necessary' measure that removes an element detrimental to the team and therefore the club's business.officer_dibble wrote:If we pay freedman (plus lennie et al) off where does it sit ffp wise?
You could probably pay release fees for a whole load of players and it not count either.

If we are not worrying about FFP then let's just sign Dawson instead!Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I don't think we should worry about FFP in that scenario. Re: Freedman out!
I don't think anyone has posted anything to suggest the cost of a managerial pay off and wages are not taken as part of an FFP measure.danardif1 wrote:Someone else mentioned on here before that managerial payoffs aren't included in FFP regulations as it's a cost that can be attributed to a cost that removes an element detrimental to the team and therefore the club's business.officer_dibble wrote:If we pay freedman (plus lennie et al) off where does it sit ffp wise?

FFP simply measures the ratio of profit/loss to income for the footballing part (so the hotel presumably is exempt) of the business. I've seen nothing to suggest you can pay people off and it not count. Nor to suggest that managerial appointments are exempt.

Perhaps not. If we are ignoring FFP let's put a bid in and find out at least!

Re: Freedman out!
We do know where we are with FPP if we don't meet FPP this season then no sanctions are in force. They do not start till 2014 - 2015 season, I have copied the wording below.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I don't think we should worry about FFP in that scenario. Failure to stay within the defined limits will lead to the imposition of sanctions. However, there will be no sanctions implemented during the first two seasons (2012/13 and 2013/14) in order to give clubs a sensible period of transition.
From the 2014/15 season, sanctions will be introduced that will differ depending on whether the club ultimately remained in the Championship, was promoted to the Premier League or was relegated to League 1.

As for a replacement, I've not a clue, but I get the feeling it's going to get worse before it gets better for Wanderers. Perhaps relegation, a complete clear out of the playing and senior coaching staff and a new recruitment policy would do us a world of good. We've come back from the doldrums before and I'll always support the team but something needs to change or we're in bigger trouble than just falling down to League 1.
That's exactly what people were saying when we were relegated from the Prem. And look how's that turned out. How many divisions are we going to have to drop?!

Re: Freedman out!
We do. No sanctions before 2014/15. After which, it's a tranfer embargo if you were to remain in the Championship. Should you get promoted to the Prem having breached the FFP rules, you get a sliding scale "FFP Tax" ranging from 1% for 0-£100k breach to 100% on anything over £10m.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I don't think we should worry about FFP in that scenario. There are some exclusions from FFP - these are
1) Investment in youth development can be excluded from the "loss" side, as can promotion payments and investment in a Club's community scheme
2) Selling fixed assets (excluding players) is excluded from "profit"
Other things you can exclude are
Career ending injury costs, bad debts from other Clubs and losses sustained from a major sponsor defaulting...
Other than that, I think everything counts...
