Re: Freedman out!
Lots of sky sports hype and not much actual fact in there.. The league table is a pretty good indicator of the quality of the squad and the management... If you put our better individuals in better teams they'll likely do better.. The other players will do that... Not the managerSmokinFrazier wrote:The money excuse is only valid if you believe that the current set of players are thoroughly inept, which I think is a long way off base. They're a good group of players for this league but they're not being guided in the right direction. Fulham and a few good French clubs want N'Gog, who our fans slag off every week, I've read countless posts from people saying that Mills is useless yet one of the best managers in the league, Brian McDermott, wanted him at Leeds. Our fans have chastised Tim Ream, yet even though he's playing out of position and without game time, he comes into the team and gets MotM two games in a row and looks solid. How many on here moaned for months about Pratley? Yet at the start of the season, he showed real class. Chungy has received many criticisms yet he's constantly been linked with other clubs. Baptiste has been called not fit to burn over the past few weeks, yet several Championship clubs wanted him, as did Palace who tried extremely hard to take him to the Premier League. People on here talked for a long time about how useless Keith Andrews was, yet he goes out on loan to a club who beat us 3-1 and some of their fans say he's been their best player this year.
Let's not talk sh*t and say that we don't have the quality. If that was the case, why would some of our most derided players show their ability elsewhere, do well in positions which don't suit them or be wanted by better clubs than us? Other managers know what is happening at Bolton. We have quality within the team but they're not being guided in the right direction. If our players were capable of nothing better, why would so many teams who are doing much better than us, be interested in those who our fans criticise each week? That doesn't add up. Had Spearing gone to Blackburn, we'd probably be reading rave reviews of his performances and kicking ourselves for not bringing him in. Had we not got Beckford, we'd be wishing we had his goal threat. If Baptiste had gone to the Premier League, we'd be wishing we had his presence in defence.
We don't have a lack of ability. That's a cop out to excuse the pathetic man management by an utterly inept manager in Freedman. Yeah, we'd all like better players at Bolton - I wish we had Messi, Falco and Ronaldo - but the fact we are at the bottom of the league is nothing to do with the managers, it's all about the clueless man who is guiding them. The Titanic was a great boat but look at what happened to that when it was being guided by the wrong person.
And let's not pretend that going into League One means we can rebuild from there. That was supposed to be the silver lining about dropping to the Championship, yet how often does that happen? Drop to League One and we're in a serious problem for a long time. Get rid of Freedman before our next match and lets have another crack at the playoffs this season. A good manager can do that, Freedman can't.
For all your defence of our poor players imprisoned in evil dougies grasp unable to blossom to their potential and express their inner Ronaldo .... How many of them would get into Allardyces squad, let alone on the pitch, in either of the uefa cup qualifiers.. Not very many imv.. Most of them wouldn't get near voldemorts first team...
We're shit because the money ran out the trajectory is down without cash and lots of it the descent is inevitable all that a new manager will change is the glide path... This lot aren't troubling the premiership for decades..
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

Re: Freedman out!
According to Nixon, Eddie has decided to back Dougie with more money to bring in players rather than sack him.
That is according to Nixon who last night was hinting he feared for Dougies future. Mind he thought Coyle was as safe as houses the day before he went!

That's a relief. I'll just go fire up the time machine to go back to when the transfer window was open so we can buy them.BWFC_Insane wrote:According to Nixon, Eddie has decided to back Dougie with more money to bring in players rather than sack him.

Re: Freedman out!
I know he means loans like, but y'know this is the squad that Dougie felt was good enough to get us promotion and now 8 games in suddenly he thinks they're not.

To be fair to Dougie, pretty much all along he's been saying he wanted a couple more players.
Anyhow we shall see if Nixon's info is correct.

Re: Freedman out!
SmokinFrazier and BL3 typify what is wrong with fans these days.
It doesn't matter who you get in someone will take an instant dislike to the guy, don't get the results and this spreads to a few more with the help of the early haters. Pressure then mounts, all fans begin to ask for his sacking and we are back to square one.
Get it in your heads that we do NOT have the cash to be a sacking club.
He will be here for a fair few months.
Get the "play offs/promotion" out of your head as these are a pipe dream.
It will take time to turn this ship around.
Without the fans backing then no man will succeed.
oh and btw to make you feel better
"We shouldn't have got him in as manager because there are better guys out there who could get us back in the premier league you were right"
I'm sure there are those in your work place who believe there could be better people in your position but I bet they don't go spouting on about it everyday on an open forum.

Nah I suspect just to piss you off. But either theory is plausible!BL3 wrote:To keep his other signings company on the bench?BWFC_Insane wrote:To be fair to Dougie, pretty much all along he's been saying he wanted a couple more players.
Re: Freedman out!
dunno if that's worse than sordell or rodrigo sitting on the bench or whatever when we were conceding boatloads. sordell cost the earth and the other looked kinda class , coyle apparantly want to reloan him , he probably thought ' i can sit on the bench in portugal , rather than next to muamba' then scored shitloads.BL3 wrote:

i think theyre [the entire club] is waiting for something..

dont know him, but i heard similar from different people. so off that, i think he's right. things have been printed in the papers with less verified sources.Wandering Willy wrote: It'll be reet.

it could be a cult. but if its a cult , dunno what the feck you'd call the last lot ? maybe "church of the freeloaders" ? their logo's probably a silouette of a group of people loading stuff into a ford escort van.

Re: Freedman out!
Also while on my highish horse could we stop throwing selective quotes back at all and sundry and accept that. They're only in front of the camera/microphone to satisfy a contractual obligation and are not in a position to say anything transparent or insightful ... Unless they are Paulo Di Canio who is on a number of levels so barking he's Dagenham..
All this "freedman said this group of players were good enough!"
What did you expect... .? "Well Jeff the primary motivator here has been to get the wage bill down obviously the squad is weaker as a result so I'd advise the fans not to get their hopes up."
The internet would collapse!
Nothing any of them say in public is anything other than what they want others to hear..
We'd be better off with none of it.. But sky have 168 hours of TV a week to fill and fans believe they have a right to be told, even when what they're told is tripe.

Re: Freedman out!
Quotes are fair game. The trouble is he's said all along that he felt we were a few players short. It doesn't take much to realise he felt earlier in the summer he'd have more money to sign players than he has actually had.norm the jedi wrote:Also while on my highish horse could we stop throwing selective quotes back at all and sundry and accept that. That is not to say we should be bottom of the league. Clearly we shouldn't. But as we've not been able to shift the players he wanted rid of (our squad is so good that despite it being absolutely clear we'd consider offers for anyone, that nobody has come in for them) the issues remain.
I still think two players with the right attitude and ability would turn this round for us, whether there are any available now or not I don't know.

It's like a stuck record.
Over the course of the last 7 days and three games, I think pretty much all of his uninjured signings have played.
FWIW, I think we sacked the previous incumbent way too late - nearly 12 months too late. This one should probably be gone by about Monday.
Re: Freedman out!
dunno about that, for one, they paid coyle off , if they sack mr freedman , they'll have to pay him off . then they'll have to pay off mick mccarthy when the arabs want their foriegner of choice.Worthy4England wrote:This one should probably be gone by about Monday.
thats a lot of compo for the knee jerkers who lumbered us with coyle.

Re: Freedman out!
I thought they got Megson's departure just about right. Wasn't unhappy with Coyle's first full season and ok with Freedman last season. Often what sorts out win or lose is the strength of the signings you make. Megson made some reasonable signings, but often didn't know what to do with the feckers. Coyle signed some average Championship level players and wonders why we ended up there. Freedman's signings look to be heading the same way, other than a fair proportion of them are fairly recent.a1 wrote:dunno about that, for one, they paid coyle off , if they sack mr freedman , they'll have to pay him off . then they'll have to pay off mick mccarthy when the arabs want their foriegner of choice.Worthy4England wrote:This one should probably be gone by about Monday.

the yeovil game is the first game of the season were i think, yeah, "ok" , not a derby , not a big bucks team.
they'll probably loan a 12million pound striker for a packet of chrisps before next week.
