To be honest, I am happy.....didn't think we'd actually make 10 years, couple of hiccups along the way...Bijou Bob wrote:Isn't life too short to feel like that?! 'Bout to release my 2nd Demo , Just recorded the Lyrics Twice.
This one's a bit sh*t, probably worse than the first one.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
I was married for 30 years but eventually got an early release for bad behaviour or something. Then, in the triumph of hope over experience, I got married again a couple of years ago. No regrets about either marriage tbh. It is true, like Bob, in the division of assets following my first marriage my ex-wife got the gold mine and I got the shaft. However, we had four wonderful children of whom I'm absurdly proud like all doting fathers.Bijou Bob wrote:Isn't life too short to feel like that?! It happens to nearly everyone, Grunt. My wife and I, if we both make it, will be celebrating 43 years next month. We have had our moments in that time but managed to battle through and acknowledge our respective frailties. You'll be all right in the end.

Today, whilst the Wanderers were getting thrashed, I nipped onto the fish market. This was around the time at which they're selling stuff off for cheap. As such I've just divided into bags and loaded into the freezer 22 skinless chicken breasts, total weight 12 lb, cost £10, as well as three very handsome pieces of cod, total weight just over 3 lb, cost also £10.

May the bridges I burn light your way

So many things to do when we free ourselves from the misery of our current Saturdays.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
I bought a second hand car a few months ago and haven't had the chance to take it for much of a run and experiment with it. Yesterday was a 'joy ride' day for my sister-in-law, her son (my nephew) and her daughter's son (my great nephew?). The car is a pig of a thing when cold but improves with heat. Poor great nephew (he's about 10) went first and got jerked around with the sudden clutch engagement. He thought it was 'awesome'. Sister-in-law was second, by which time things were a little more civilised. Her comment - during the drive - was along the lines of "This is fun, why have most of us older people forgotten what fun is?". Then came my nephew, who is in his mid thirties, keen on cars, and drives a turbocharged Golf GTI.
I really shouldn't have done this as we were on suburban roads, but I did it anyway. Trundling along at 50 Km/h in third gear I, having warned him, hit the loud pedal. A bit of wheel spin and then the acceleration. A couple of seconds - I am not an advocate of law breaking - was enough. The three of them left with smiles on their faces.
I'm happy about being able to making others happy.

While I didn't particularly like him it is always nice to see another person from my year get signed up to play professional sport. Dan Barnes has just been signed for London Wasps.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
He was just one of those kids who did three things that got on my nerves a bit
1. smoked from a very young age
2. did hardly any work in lessons and disrupted lessons
3.Was just generally not a very nice person and was one of a group of lads who bullied a boy with aspergus in the school.
Admittedly the 3rd one got on my nerves more than the other 2 but still its annoying when lads take such liberties and yet do well for themselves. Have not spoke to him since he left in year 11 so maybe he has changed.
