if (as you say) we are having difficulty signing defenders because clubs don't want to release them yet - why would clubs have wanted to release them earlier?
They might not have but Baird was sitting around for months before Reading signed him.
hmmm - but these defenders that we are allegedly trying to sign but clubs aren't (as you say) "letting them out yet" - what logic suggests that the clubs would have wanted to let them out earlier?

Don't get me wrong the lads have been that poor every shirt is up for grabs. But Medo, spearing, pratley and ream (in centre mid) are our most competent performers at the moment.

Pointless signing IMO. Waste of budget. Hopefully i am wrong.

We wouldn't necessarily be begging premiership clubs for favours in August. But now we have no choice if we want to add players.

not really sure what your point is. there is no suggestion that funds have been made available to BUY players - so it was always the loan market - and if clubs are not willing to let go of the players we are after NOW - they wouldn't have been ready to let them go of them earlier...

Leeds took a centre half from the dmbs who was nowhere near the first team and looked handy. Players are out there.

maybe it's that dougie has guided us into a place that doesn't look very attractive?

maybe dougie just hasn't got that magic loanee pied-piper touch?

Dawson in the WBA team to play Gooners and Hudson was in the Cardiff team last night so neither of them worked on the loan front. Is there any other defenders that are currently not getting a game in the Premier League that we might tempt for a game at the 'Bok?

there will be a list of prem players who did not make the 25man squads... nobody seems to have done the extensive research though! i'd have thought they would be the prime targets...

yeah - we don't want dawson or hudson as they are cup-tied... oh!

He did look decent, but if we're talking former Palace men from that night I'd like to see Sean Scannell in a Wanderers shirt. Looked a good un.

He was great, didn't he play on one side and Danns on the other for 'Udderfield last season?
