To answer your question General, Packy is a regularly used nickname in Ireland for people called Patrick.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Indeed. Ireland's goalkeeper in the '70's was one Packy Bonner.

Im not, far from it, but I just dont like hearing the word packy, cant help it. never heard of Packy Bonner, ive only ever known it used in the other context.
