This loan market is far from ideal. You grab what you can rather than choosing from much.

And you can't entirely blame DF here either, not for the fact we are having to shop in this market. The tightening of the purse strings and the seemingly restrictive transfer policy during the actual window haven't helped. If Eddie felt the squad was strong enough and a simple managerial change was required I can't see us going for all these loans. I really can't.

So to me it is a balls up in general not to have realised we needed strengthening further during the summer. I believe that DF knew that we did but his hands were tied somewhat.

In short a balls up that nobody comes out of that well from. Owner, manager, and current players.
Not sure what the evidence is for him not being backed. I want DF to do well because it means we will do well but if he's giving the same contradictory messages to the board as he's done publicly then... I know managers throw up smokescreens but we've had that the squad he inherited was great and then that it was pish and lots of em needed to be moved on; he was backed to do early business in the transfer window - I didn't hear of many that he was stopped from landing; that some kids would break through and then that they weren't up to it; that loanees were crap followed by a rapid influx of loans. We have constant reference to PL relegation hangovers in the same way as the Coalition blames everything on the last Labour govt. As I've said before its just not reassuringly coherent.

I am wondering whether Coyle buried that coin or whatever in the wrong part of the goalmouth at OT that fateful day of Holdens injury and we have had some gipsy curse hanging over us. Coyle out

I'd prefer to see what the three players can do no the pitch rather than speculate whether they are pants are not. Didn't some one on here say "one man's crap is another man's treasure". It's happened before with players, I'll reserve the judgement till tomorrow

Word on the grapevine is that Villa are looking to loan Albrighton out after serious injury. Wouldn't mind having him on loan for a month or so

than what ? chucking 3 players - not match sharp, possibly 1 training session into the mix.
not my kind of gamble. I missed the Derby game due to a family bereavement but I got the impression we were OKish

As long as we win I wouldn't give a shit if Fred Dibnah, Julian Clary and Michael Barrymore lined up for us.

Apart from McNaughton I cannot get excited about the other 2.

Regardless of that though until we see how they perform in a white shirt is pretty pointless.

If Dougie moves Baptiste inside to accommodate McNaughton and it works, I'll be both chuffed and bloody fuming. Folk on here have been saying he's a centre back rather than a right back since we signed him. If its taken him this long to realise it :whack:

yeah - but he HAS delivered the goods.... three signings in a week... not to be sneezed at!

Before anyone opens the champagne, I'd just like to say that I have one formal job on this site...to lock the old transfer thread and put the offer out there for someone to start a new one.
I haven't actually done that yet, so-and I'm sorry to say this plymface-but this thread is null and void.
Looks like zico's still holding the best tranny thread ever award.

Well, I dunno. I think it's all pretty much out of Freedman's hands now, and firmly with Plymouth. We have a plethora of talent come in, I'm expecting at least a Cup at the end of the season.

Hoboh'll be a fan of his then.

Also, and I've only just seen that video, you're on crack if you think he hit Massey on purpose! Look where the ball goes! He was trying to chase his tackle. (Fnarr).

Even more fun fact. Maurice Volz scored the 15000th, leading to plenty of '15000 Volz' headlines :D
