To everyone thinking we are already doomed to relegation with Dougie at the helm, I looked at the table from last year of the three teams in the relegation positions then Two survived. Which suggests to me no need to push any panic button yet, in order to get rid of a manager who nearly got us to the play offs last season. Promotion this season is a distant dream realistically both automatic and play offs, Mid table is very attainable with this squad and this manager.

I was working on Sat so didn't see the game, but from the commentary I listened to we should of been comfortably in front by half time. On another day with a confident team we would of won this game at a canter, given time Dougie will turn us around.

As an interesting point The team in 3rd position last season at the beginning of October was relegated ( Wolves ). Does that mean every team below 2nd now should look at changing manager?

In our case following that precedent would bring us back to... Big Sam. We've had Little Sam, Megson, Coyle and now Freedman since BSA left, and whilst his West Ham side (with many ex-Wanderers in the team that were often mocked by some of our fans, such as Matty Taylor, Vaz Te, and even Jaaskelainen in his last seasons with us) are up in the Premier League setting about establishing themselves in the same manner we did many moons ago, we are propping up the league below with a massive wage bill and a bunch of crap players from our Premier League 'heyday'.

Hiring and firing can only work if you somehow stumble on the solution, but that could take 6 months or 6 years.

This result was not 'good', it just wasn't 'bad'. It's not the result Freedman wanted and it doesn't alter my hope that he gets sacked as soon as possible, though I don't think he will be after tonight. Do you honestly think that any of the Freedman detractors have been proven wrong because of tonights result? Of course not. He's an inept manager and he deserves to be sacked as soon before the next game. I've thought that for several games now, it hasn't happened, we've dropped more points and he's still no closer to being sacked. Let's get the champagne out because we drew.

That is desperately disappointing, and a full point per game lower than we'd normally need to hit the play-offs - and this season's top six are setting a hotter pace than that, with sixth-placed Blackpool on 19 from 10 games.

At the moment promotion feels a pipe dream but it doesn't feel like we're playing awfully. But for Boggers' balls-up we'd have had two clean sheets this week, and hopefully the new recruits will help us get a sharper edge up the other end. I'm worried for Beckford but would still like to think he might come good, and we don't have much other choice: those who would play Eaves might have forgotten that his lack of pace would allow the oppo defence to squeeze up and compress our creative department. I agree with most of this. I'd prefer to play Ream in the holding position for which he looks a natural. But given the real weakness of all our central defenders... Mills included... perhaps Ream needs to be there (and he's a weak central defender as well!). Whatever else Dougie needed to do he needed to sort out the centre of our defence. I agree there are a few signs for optimism, on the horizon, weak flashes of light...

Beckford has played better recently - still not scoring but now getting the chances... Feeney might just be a proper player for us, and that's important given the really sad fading of CYL after career threatening injury... Medo played better tonight... Spearing may get back to the form we need - he could be the leader on the pitch that I feel we are lacking...

I don't want Dougie sacked - I'm bored by the advocates of this non-solution. He isn't - whatever the stats say - in the appalling, clueless fog that surrounded Lee's disastrous 'reign'. He doesn't make me want to give up the Wanderers in the way Megson did. Coyle gave me a lot of pleasure during his time in charge, but was stubborn and rigid tactically, and in a crisis sank rather than swam... We are in changing times. our loyalty is going to be tested. And our crowd was under 15000 last weekend.

It isn't going to be easy. But Dougie hasn't had the time to prove himself. The jury is out for me. That means the verdict is not yet reached.
