I vote this thread "Thread of the Year" if there was an end of year award ceremony which I think there should be.

Re: Liam Feeney
Is SmokinFrazier actually BL3, in his more thoughtful moments?
Re: Liam Feeney
SF makes some good points but does sometimes cone across as a stuck record.
BL3 is just a troll who disappears when things are good and then just snipes by half selecting quotes. IMO the forest troll M61 did far less...

Re: Liam Feeney
Feeney looks like a good player. I was impressed with his pace, crossing and how direct he was. Beckford is decent in the air, so those two alone should create plenty of chances for us. Whilst unspectacular, I like McNaughton but Danns was poor though.
Re: Liam Feeney
He looked quite good but I personally think the jury is still out on him, would still rather see C.Y.L and Eagles out wide.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Re: Liam Feeney
Danns was doing the running that our so called 'talented players' don't fancy doing. So he worked back when needed and supported Beckford when needed. Which involved a lot of running and effort. Was it an eye catching display? No, but it was a very much needed display in a role that we've found other players struggle with.SmokinFrazier wrote:Feeney looks like a good player. And he got a goal.
Right now we are rightly prioritising attitude over ability. And Danns is showing exactly the right attitude.

Re: Liam Feeney
Feeney is a revelation. It remains fair to wonder how what we have seen couldn't even get a bench place at Millwall.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Re: Liam Feeney
I think those last few words is key element that have been missing for the last 3 seasons. I'm not saying players haven't been trying but they just don't seem 'up for the fight'. Sometimes you have no option but to roll your sleeves up, dig deep and scrap for every tackle, every loose ball and every point to get back into the Premier League. Too many of our players lack that attribute.BWFC_Insane wrote:Danns was doing the running that our so called 'talented players' don't fancy doing. The three new loan players have all come in with the right attitude. They may not be the best players in the world but they are just what we need at the moment.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Re: Liam Feeney
I'm fed up with taking loanees like Wilshere, Sturridge and Feeney, just to send them back as more rounded players with experience, to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Milwall.
Re: Liam Feeney
Yes but if we are to make our opinions of footballers based on one game then we are in big trouble, mind you I said the same after Halls first game so we will see. Different level all together but my friend scored 5 goals on his debut for the school team, he only scored 2 more goals for the school in the 7 years that followed.89bwfc89 wrote:bwfcdan94 wrote:He looked quite good but I personally think the jury is still out on him, would still rather see C.Y.L and Eagles out wide.Chungy over Feeney? Really? Did you watch the game yesterday?

Re: Liam Feeney
A year and a halve, that's a bit steep. What players do you actually rate at this football club because I think this is probably the best squad we have had of reason years.Jez wrote:Chungys been shite for about a season and a half...bwfcdan94 wrote:Yes but if we are to make our opinions of footballers based on one game then we are in big trouble89bwfc89 wrote:bwfcdan94 wrote:He looked quite good but I personally think the jury is still out on him, would still rather see C.Y.L and Eagles out wide.Chungy over Feeney? What are you on about Dan? We've had the worst start in the lowest division of your entire lifetime and youre saying we have the best squad in recent years?bwfcdan94 wrote:A year and a halve, that's a bit steep. The Squad I'll admit has names like chungy who were great players, but are just shadows of their former selves. He's clearly not just in bad form anymore and the broken leg has really hindered his ability as a footballer, god knows what holden will be like when he comes back from two bad knees and mark davies will have a long road to recovery.
I think there are talented players in our squad at the minute that have no graft and dont really seem to care, I'd call spearing our best player and I highly rate medo too, Ream has impressed so far and Rob Hall and Feeney are exciting players. Baptiste has been decent and Tierney was reliable, besides that though? Certain names seem to still see themselves as premier league stars when theyre anything but that these days.
Re: Liam Feeney
Bit surprised on Medo I thought he had not reached the heights of last season and yes I will stick by my statement of us having the best squad in my memory because I think that is what we have. Something hasn't been clicking though but we saw last season that when this team is playing for each other it can storm up the league table.

Re: Liam Feeney
He definitely put a lot of effort in but it's evident that he doesn't have a lot of quality. He's similar to Pratley but not quite as good in any area, I don't think, though I like his energy.BWFC_Insane wrote:Danns was doing the running that our so called 'talented players' don't fancy doing. You're right about the attitude that the loan players have. That's one benefit to bringing players in on loan when you're a struggling club because they come in knowing they'll get a chance and they also don't care about where the club is in the league, they can just play their own game. They don't carry any negativity, unlike the players permanently contracted to the club, and they can only enhance their reputation so there aren't any real negatives for the player going out on loan. That's a useful addition when you're struggling and so many of the players are dispirited.
Re: Liam Feeney
To be fair to Douglas, these loan signings are doing exactly what he said he wanted them to do and it's working. Not to say it will in the long term but he's trying and I like that, rather than sticking to the same losing bunch. Not convinced we won't revert to type but let's enjoy the positives.SmokinFrazier wrote:He definitely put a lot of effort in but it's evident that he doesn't have a lot of quality. Danns has played one full game in which he put in a shift and scored a winner. He didn't look great but how much has he been playing. As for the Pratley comparison, it took him 6 months to have a decent game and he was no better than Danns yesterday. The guy looked full of enthusiasm and up for a battle. That'll do me for now.
