I don't believe anything that that knobber comes out with. Flog Knight? As in 'sell'?BWFC_Insane wrote:Just been reading Nixon's tweets. According to him we are planning a clear out in January or the summer depending upon when we can get rid of players.
Eagles, NGog and Knight out of contract in the summer. Won't be kept. Flogged in January if possible.
Chungy, Wheater and Mears also players Dougie is trying to move on over the next window or two.
Big changes.

May the bridges I burn light your way

Hope none of them ever play for the first team again or steal places on the bench if they have read this, no commitment I think would be order of the day.BWFC_Insane wrote:Just been reading Nixon's tweets. Or is Dingle lover Nixon just putting the boot in?

given his bigging-up of Ngog - that'd be an interesting move...
if its true - presumably they are considered to be saleable assets...

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
I'm expecting NGog and Knight to go on a free.
Eagles may have some interest I guess.
Chungy and Wheater (and Mears?) are under contract and will have to be sales. Suspect that these lads are where the wages are tied up and possibly shifting them is the easiest way to rebuild.
I think Eagles has something to offer in this league. Wheater seems to be struggling but I'd like him to get a little more time.
Chungy needs to move on for everyone's sake I think. His and the clubs. Same with NGog and Knight.
Mears doesn't seem to have worked out here.
EDIT: And when asked about the Mirror story Nixon wrote about trying to shift these players on Marc Iles said the following "think he's been doing that for some time now. Actually selling on said players hasn't been easy, though."
Sounds to me like this is the plan. It is hardly surprising.

Or (as BWFCi suggested while I was writing this) their wages are too high for bench-dwellers. So if anyone wants to take some or all of their salary off us, our door's open. See also Andrews, Sordell, Ricketts...thebish wrote:if its true - presumably they are considered to be saleable assets...
Whether or not this latest twitsplurge is wholly true, it does feel like Dougie's broom is really starting to reach into those corners now. Slightly surprised about Eagles, who I would hope still has something to offer, but notable that Mills and Ream have dropped out of the shop window...

Down to them having an "attitude change" if you believe AN. Which I suppose is possible if both wanted away then realised slowly over the summer that nobody wanted them!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Or (as BWFCi suggested while I was writing this) their wages are too high for bench-dwellers. Wigan would no doubt be in for Eagles, but I'd prefer we could get him playing - he's been a one man creative force for lots of games in the last 18 months.

I think the thing with Eagles is that he's out of contract in the summer and I'm assuming that the club aren't going to match his existing deal. Which means he's probably off then anyhow.Athers wrote:Wigan would no doubt be in for Eagles, but I'd prefer we could get him playing - he's been a one man creative force for lots of games in the last 18 months.
My feeling is that it is now not so much about individuals or what they offer but that the club has accepted and or realised that a clean break and a rebuild of the first team squad is in order. That means shifting people out.

If Feeney can come in and put Eagles/LCY to shame then it makes me wonder why they're getting big wages, if they are, especially with everything people have said about Feeney not being a big name signing.
Agreeing with BWFCI, there was a piece in the Times yesterday talking about England being a collection of individuals as opposed to a team. You could probably make a case for the Wanderers being similar recently.

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
12 months ago Eagles was getting dogs abuse on here, from some, and, awfully, live at the ground. Why he stayed is beyond me.
He flips from very good to anonymous, which is I guess why he's not a top Premiership player. When he's good he really is very good.
Also, as another example of Dougie bull, he was being built up to be the deep lying striker. I've seen precious little of that since pre-season. It seems the first-game injury had a huge effect on him, the club and the manager.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

All these players to one extent or another are the ones who have failed us for the past few years. Eagles may get a reprieve due to his performances last season particularly during the run in.
But I'm guessing that the club are simply accepting that failure needs rooting out. And I don't believe there can be real and sustained change at the club without a fresh outlook and radically new personnel. We've tried the patch up and mend for a while now and it hasn't really worked.
Need to build a new attitude at the club and the likes of NGog, Lee, Knight, and possibly Eagles don't necessarily fit with that.

B.W.F.Ci, really mate, I wish you'd piss off with your "failures". One bad game and you're shouting "rubbish". If they aren't good enough, fair comment, get rid, but ffs give em a chance first.
Not sure what we're looking to build here? With that lot gone, what's really the point of having pro footballers at all? Just keep getting loanees in and calling them Bolton Wanderers. One day we'll disappear up our own arse and wonder why. If Eagles and co aren't pxssed off already they will be reading that.

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
N'Gog, Lee, Knight??? Would you really shed any tears if any of them left? I think the word failure is quite an appropriate term for them given the last 2 and a half years or so. It's not like it's only one bad game with these characters. N'Gog has been given a decent shot by both Coyle and Freedman, and has shown nothing more than glimpses. We can go on about Lee pre injury but how long do we continue to put up with the below par perfomances? As for Knight, I don't think he is quite as bad as people make out, but it took an inexperienced young centre half beside him to make him look anything like the money we paid for him, and since he left he's reverted back to type.TANGODANCER wrote:B.W.F.Ci, really mate, I wish you'd piss off with your "failures". Eagles would be the only one I could hand on heart say I'd be disappointing about leaving out of the above mentioned.

Out of the players listed, who has had "1 bad game"? And who hasn't been "given a chance"?TANGODANCER wrote:B.W.F.Ci, really mate, I wish you'd piss off with your "failures". We've been trying these lads for 3 seasons now. One relegation, one failure to get promoted, and no win in 10 this season until we brought some loan replacements in.
So what you're saying is that after all that, and given we don't have many resources to continually add without losing some first, we should stick with NGog, Lee, Knight etc etc and just give them more time? Really?

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
If that happens, it'll be disastrous for the club. We need to keep the quality we have, not get rid of them and replace them with mediocre players because they have the 'right attitude'. If this plan comes to fruition, and I hope it doesn't, it's an awful sign of the clubs lack of ambition. These rumours stink of Freedman wanting to ship out the players who have no faith in his managerial ability, and their poor performances back up that idea.BWFC_Insane wrote:Just been reading Nixon's tweets. You're one of the people who, rightly, has defended N'Gog because you've seen his abilities. Is it his fault that a manager who doesn't have a clue what he's doing decides to play him up front on his own? We both know that's a terrible selection and I'm sure N'Gog is as frustrated by it as we are. How can you expect players to perform to their best ability when you put them in such positions? Picking N'Gog as a lone striker is inexcusable because as good as he can be, his abilities just don't suit that role.BWFC_Insane wrote:So what you're saying is that after all that, and given we don't have many resources to continually add without losing some first, we should stick with NGog, Lee, Knight etc etc and just give them more time? What were the excuses under Coyle then for these players? LCY has been below average since his injury. That might be hard luck, but I imagine he's one of our highest earners along with N'gog and continues to do feck all. N'gog's (too many apostrophes) best game in a Bolton shirt was up front, on his own, against Liverpool. Coyle played him there. And then resorted to 4-4-2 about a fortnight later. N'gog continued blowing hot and mostly cold, and we got relegated.SmokinFrazier wrote:You're one of the people who, rightly, has defended N'Gog because you've seen his abilities.
