Liverpool laughing stocks?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

If I recall correctly, and memory (especially on my part) is a fickle thing, Liverpool were the top dominant team and were coming up towards their twentieth League championship. It was widely acknowledged at the time that the bootroom dynasty instigated by Shankly were amongst the most successful managerial team of all time. Manchester United were still a force, but nowhere near as successful as the Busby days when along came Ferguson. It was almost immediately obvious to 'those who know football' :wink: that a duel for the ultimate bragging rights was immenant between two contemporaneous, and mutually disparaging, Glaswegians. It was, even then, a battle of giants. Here endeth the history lesson.
yes - but you didn't describe Liverpool - the club - as giants - but Kenny himself as a giant!!!

stop digging, spotty - and get back to your King Kenny sticker collection... :wink:

The spotty one wrote (before he started backtracking): The 'giants' of the last twenty years were Fergie and Dalglish...

Now you're saying he's comparable to Clough and Wenger who have had 'hardly stellar' careers.

If you backtrack any more you're going to hit your head on your mum's Uterus. 8)
I have tried to explain that. I believe I'm amending an impression I wrongly gave. Let me help you to understand where I'm not backtracking: I think, still despite the vehemence displayed towards him, that Dalglish was a great manager. I believe, at the time Fergie was making a name for himself that he was one of the two giants in English football at that time. I think that FSGs appointment of him as a director is 'canny'. I understand that these views are contntious - that has been made very clear. I'm not trying to wind anybody up, but my mother's uterus is safe from me bumping my head against it, ta.
Who was the other giant?
Jossy? 8)

That's older than the internet!

There's one for Chorley where they've at least been bothered to shop a heli-pic of the Mormon temple in so it looks like it's taken from up Rivi.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-nort ... s-25153504" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So, Glen Johnson vehicle is spotted speeding in a well known speed trap (take note anyone who uses the A55 near Bae Colwyn) ... doesn't answer any 'who was driving ?' letters and today fails to attend court because ... & get this ...
His solicitor said he could not be in court on Friday because of club commitments. He added that his client was "in the custody" of his club before an "important" match at Hull City.

The lawyer said Johnson was in a "catch-22 situation", because if he had been in court he would have been disciplined by the club.
Of course he would.

A friend told me that Suarez' dad had a trial for Liverpool back in the 1960's. That was some time before foreign players broke through into English football.
