Management blunder
No, nothing to do with Dougie (unless he sorts out the utility bills at the club).

Homes and businesses have been left owing millions of pounds to water firms after signing up with a bill management company that has now ceased trading.... Money Box understands a range of businesses also signed up, along with several football clubs including Bolton Wanderers. The club said it was aware of this issue but would not comment.
Wonder how much this is going to cost the club?

Re: Management blunder
Andrew White from the council said customers should be aware of some of the pitfalls of having their water bills managed by a specialist firm: "If you take on a service where you make payments through a third party, there's a real need to be aware of the risks involved. That if those payments are not passed on to the water company, you could still be held liable for those."DJBlu wrote:Club uses company that offers 8.3% saving that then goes bust is a managerial blunder?

I'd say being aware of those risks is exactly what the club's management are there for. The whole operation sounded pretty iffy, they couldn't even provide an explanation of how they were going to make those savings and keep the costs frozen - "just give us your money and let us worry about that".
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
