Am I the only one not surprised that he has rarely featured for Man U? We've seen time and time again top clubs signing young, promising (and predominantly British) players and either rarely playing them or limiting them to sub appearances. Zaha at Utd, Sinclair at City, Moses at Chelsea just as three recent examples who jump to mind. I know there's a motivation with massive paychecks, but surely the trend of hampering careers early on is obvious to them?

That aside, I'd welcome him on loan. Always looked to make something whenever he was at Palace, like Townsend in the recent England game. He'd do well here I think, give us that bit of oomph going forward that we need.

It's the allure of the big club to the player, and the pressure from the agent to get a big paycheck and convince the player that he's a shoe-in for a starting spot, rather than earn your stripes at your current club. He would've been playing Premier League football with Palace this season anyway, and would've played more games. Okay, they're likely to be relegated after one season barring some massively shit runs from other teams, but the chance to impress would've been this season. Instead he's behind a woeful Valencia, an unfavoured but talented Nani, and now wunderkind Januzaj.

I heard that he bought 4 or 5 cars or something like that after signing with Man Utd... dunno what he needs 5 cars for, but that's just typical 'I'm a big footballer now' behaviour. He might not even care really about footballing ambition now he's got the 'big money move'.

To be fair a 20yr old buying 5 cars the moment he gets some dosh in is a tad odd, but in general you're spot on ... people moaning about ostentatious, indeed not very bright, spending forget that this money then spins through the economy many times. It's the way to enrich other people through their spending.

I'd be absolutely delighted with Zaha. I think this has got a touch of the " Rhodes" about it unfortunately with Nixon just putting 2&2 together and getting five.

Would be a real lift to the whole club, but if it IS true and he's on the market, we wouldn't be alone in our interest. But we could possibly be the only club in the division who's an attractive enough prospect. Which would be nice.
