I'm fairly sure, given that particular solution, one that I myself favour, we might be able to agree on a musical point here. Both SLF and Motorhead would probably do the trick just fine and dandy. :-)

That is, I know Motorhead works, because I've tried it.

The Bolton News. Our town's own paper. Ran a big article about Baptiste and Feeney training with young kids , great. Big pictures, two of which pic titles say, "Baptiste shows off his skills" etc, "Baptiste does this/that" ....except that both pics are of Feeny. The other says, " Liam Feeney, left" . He's on the right. Great stuff B.N, not.

Perhaps you could explain in words of one syllable what exactly British Gas profiteering has to do with "Green Groups"?

I didn't think you were stupid enough to think that a company like BG was a benevolent charity.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

It's Chelsea's fault. British Gas doesn't actually extract any gas from Britain, it imports it. They buy it from Gazprom - a Russian privatised firm that charges exorbitant rates. The owner/controller of Gazprom is a chap called Abramovich, and he sucks off most of the excess exorbitant profits to line his own pocket. He does that in order to satisfy his hobby which is buying shit strikers like Mutu and Shevchenko for Chelsea. QED don't blame Greenpeace, blame Chelsea.

Naive question. What happened to North Sea gas? Or has it run out?

I was, to be honest, exagerating for comic effect. We've still got a dribble of gas hissing from the seabed, but the Scots'll be nicking that when they vote for independence next year. which'll be another excuse for british Gas to stick its prices up. Then it'll be Abramovich and Salmond's fault... Chelsea and Scotland united as tormentors of the English fuel consumers.

Well they are using rising green taxes as the excuse and the said taxes are set to add £50 a year to your bills for the next 30 odd years to cover 'alternative' sources!
So lets build nuke stations and feck off paying for Abrmo's hobby and being held to ransom by every tin pot country around the globe over our energy supplies.
Oh and has no one pointed out to that prick masquerading as the Prime minister that there is little point in moving energy suppliers because the whole feckin' bunch of them will be raising prices!

Works outing today to the Book for an "Away Day". Appalling council house coffee and a lunchtime buffet that, bearing in mind its the NHS talking about diabetes, cancer and heart disease, consisted of chips, deep fried goujons of fish, sausage rolls and cream cakes. You couldn't make it up!

I've always thought a good political move would be to remove the 5% VAT which we pay on our fuel bills. Fuel is surely more like baby food than luxury chocolate. Bet it's a nice little source of tax revenue though...

11% goes to renewable energy according to the BBC article today..

..and about 5% apparently is the profit margin of the firms. To be honest 5% isn't much and it's tempting to think that if all the big six were somehow to become one giant nationalised company that they would soon be double-digit less efficient.. Hmmm

but 10% up is a big ffs to everyone in the country, one of the few things we can all be united about.

Some of those companies produce energy and 'sell' it to themselves. The 5% Profit is likely what the retail side of their business makes. The producing side most likely makes much more. If you look at what the overall business makes and the dividends they pay out (whilst pleading poverty when it comes to investment) it goes to show what a sham it is.

And now that other happy chappie schoolboy chancer sorry chancellor is busy prostituting our nuclear industry to all and asunder, ffs are they building HS2 so their pals from China can get round the country quicker? have they thought what might happen in future years if we have a disagreement with them and they Zap our power industry with a virus?
I genuinely thought the Torys had the interests of the UK at heart but...
First they cut our defence, then sell off a vital key industry in the form of power to a foreign country to line the pockets of their pals and feck about with a maybe vote (no doubt fixed) on Europe, never ever again will they get my vote.
