yes, bournmouth, looks a compact groundbwfcdan94 wrote:Was just confused as to whether he meant he had driven past Bolton or Bournemouth players however being in Devon it is a lot more likely to be Bournemouth.

It is we are located on one side (of which we have been given halve) rather than behind the goal. Atmosphere is meant to be one of the best in the south of England.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Going off what DF has been spouting all week we are going to go ultra defensive? Therefore, we will ditch the 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 for a 9-0-1 long ball up to Beckford and we will end up losing 1-0 and DF will claim we did not show enough crativity.
I am worried DF is losing sight of his original plan of attacking, passing football in order to go for results, this is not a plan with longevity. What happened to playing 2 strikers and a creative midfielder behind (Eagles, Moritz, Mavis(when fit)) this seems to have been ditched to if in doubt kick it up in the air!
I am really hoping we are not going to go even more cautious! Now is the time to be brave Dougie and go on the attack a bit more especially away from home were teams are expecting us to be defensive. All this safety first football is dire and does not work!! IMHO

I think I can cope with us going for it & failing far more than sitting back ... and failing.
Given he was a striker his lack of attacking thinking is odd.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Best we played last season was when he said draws are no good and encouraged them to attack more. I fear he's learnt nothing from that, just like Coyle didn't from playing better with one striker in the Prem.
Oh, sweet irony!

More worrying for me Bobo is the fact that he has in Moritz, a player whom he repeatedly claims can "Unlock a defence and provide THAT pass", yet consistently fails to play him or even use him off the bench. Yes, I know he's been injured, but he fought long and hard to get him in and yet seems to have no faith in the bloke now he's supposedly fit.
4 points from the next two or I suspect we'll be looking down a long, dark, Pulis shaped tunnel with little light at the end.

Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Douggie talks a good game. Trouble is all that's happening is a series of sabre-rattling articles in the BN where one player after another declares commitment to the cause and Douggie keeps telling about how the heirarchy understand what he's trying to do. Pity the fans don't seem to have that understanding, I certainly don't. Considering at the season start we needed a central defender and possibly a striker, oh, and maybe a full-back, we've had a full on shuffle that would make Fred Astaire dizzy and, fourteeen? games into a season we're talking about learning how to defend a lead in the Championship? Now he says Baptiste is just a stop gap (guaranteed to get the best of him that is) and we need a full back to replace Tierney. We also seem to want to improve the whole squad but not spend any money?
Meantime, our newly appointed team captain can't get in the side, our newly aquired Brazilian wonderboy in a benchwarmer alongside probably the best goal threat we have in Chris Eagles, and we're dollying about in the bottom echelons. It might be worth thinking that how we play isn't really that critical as long as we keep throwing away one-goal leads, gained by anybody but our ever-changing "desert storm" strike force. Douggie's still claiming there's plenty time on his side and he has the backing from above (today's BN) .
Maybe the team should all be issued Halloween masks to frighten the opposition attackers away? Time for the talking to stop and the action to start Douglas? Christmas is coming.

Pulis will get better offers than us. Not many, and not much - it's hard to imagine a top-ten top-flight team knocking on his door - but he'd be better off avoiding us.Bijou Bob wrote:4 points from the next two or I suspect we'll be looking down a long, dark, Pulis shaped tunnel with little light at the end.

)One of the many reasons he'd be better off avoiding us. Not the sort of club where you can spend £6m on Wilson Palacios then play him once a month.Chirpy wrote:I'd not be so confident in his ability to do a job at a club, such as ours, who hasn't got £30m a year to spend
Or, for that matter, £2.5m on Brek Shea.
Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Pulis is an absolute dick. In the short term he would probably improve on the shite Dougie has been serving up, but what a miserable long-term prospect. We should try to get someone in who will do what Dougie has SAID he's going to do in terms of long term development but not backed up. Shame Nigel Clough has been snapped up.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:)One of the many reasons he'd be better off avoiding us. Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Sounds like our last 2 managers. That initial "new manager affect" is only worthwhile if you get promoted/avoid relegation because of it. I very much doubt Pulis is the answer to our problems.LeverEnd wrote:Pulis is an absolute dick. Dougie's quotes for building up fan confidence this week ; -
I may go out tomorrow afternoon, switch the phone off and take a swift peep at 5pm hoping to be surprised.
I'm relieved that we've turned the corner a bit. That's what getting 2 home points from 6 does for you.
Really ? We plan to try to keep the game close and, if we achieve that, we have a chance ???"I just feel we have turned the corner a bit. There's a little bit more determination about us now.
We’re going there to make sure we keep the game at least close. If we’re in it, then I have always thought we’ve got the players to go and win it.”

BTW the Mello Mello bar and the Sir Percy Florence Shelly (a Weatherspoon) are the away pubs at Bournemouth. They are next door to each other on the Christchurch road and are in the general direction of the ground. I thought it would be useful information as several of you have said you will in Bournemouth quite early.

Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
If we were bangin' 'em in for fun he wouldn't say he plans to be 3 up by half-time. We're on some kind of fragile recovery what's he supposed to say? If he says we expect to beat this bunch o' part-timers that's over-confidence. If we've been working on ways to beat Bournemouth in training I'd hope he wouldn't spill the beans in a pre-match press conference. So either you got "fantastic manager, pull socks up, smiles on our faces" or you got something from someone who appears to be relatively intelligent with a sense of humour who wants to win but is being cautious with language and gives the press something without giving away any secrets. Would you rather he said player x will start and I'll be telling player y to feed him in position a so that we can score from area m? Do you want him to say, despite being 10 places (or whatever it is) above us Bournemouth should be easy for a team like BWFC?
What happens on the pitch speaks for itself but Dougie-bashing over interviews/press conferences sounds bizarre to me.

Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
I keep comparing this trip to the Brighton game. South coast, we'll try and keep it tight and surprise ourselves by going a goal up.
2nd half we'll collapse like a pack of cheap cards and lose 1-3
