Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
I do and I've posted several times on the Guardian forums about it. The damage Snowden has done is untold and I for one am happy that he will have rather a lot of years to think about whether his actions were worth it. Mind you, that's very much a minority opinion on the Guardian site!Prufrock wrote:Depressed about how little of a shit everyone seems to give about the whole Guardian/ Snowden/ GCHQ thing. Were all either bring spied on 1984 style, out the Guardian are big old traitors. No one gives a folk!

It was little tribute to the Guardian
. DYAC!
Bob, I keep hearing that, but is the actual damage he is supposed to have done? To my knowledge (and feel free to correct me because this might be bollocks) but, unlike Assange, he hasn't just jizzed stuff all over the internet. The Guardian only published stuff which didn't seem to damage national security and claimed to have even run that past the govt to let them explain why any seemingly innocuous stuff shouldn't be published. As someone said the other day, if there are terrorist groups out there who hadn't realised that they might be being watched, then they probably aren't much worth worrying about anyway!
The likes of the Daily Mail, screaming for months about the freedom of the press and justifying the endless vacuousness of their celebrity coverage with the line that 'we'll need press freedom when a serious story comes along' are now in arms to call the Guardian 'traitors'.
Whether or not the Govt spying on people is justified is one thing, but what depresses me is that no-one seems to give a shit.
'Oh reading our emails are they? I thought as much'.

Well quite, Pru. The government, you, me mam, General Sherman and Wild Bill Hickock can all read my emails if they're that so inclined. I don't get the big deal.

It must be generational .... I couldn't give a monkey's if they are gettable by the authorities should there be reason to.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Well quite, Pru. There would be no interest in peeking at them on a day-to-day basis & if ever I did something extreme, or something was done to me and they may help ... let them look. I feel the same about street cctv.
What're you hiding Pru ???
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

A fancy pants colleague (a Continental doncha know) has just parked up his beemer in our carpark after a meeting in Derby. It has that self parking gizmo. Only it's just rammed one of the cars in the carpark which is now sporting a feckin great dent in the rear door.
The car with the dent had snuck into my usual spot when I'd gone into town this dinnertime.

Interview seemed to go well, although that may be the kiss of death. Should have been told the result by now but apparently, someone who has been off long term sick has applied and has to be interviewed. I feel a stitch up coming on, but will find out Thursday now. Bleeding sicknotes!

Tesco has pulled another shelebrity blinder after the recent appearance of Joey Essex, this time it's Katie Price launching some perfume! I'd launch somehting at her but it wouldn't be delicately fragrant.
She also has another autobiography out, what a fascinating life. I'll let you know on the book thread...

I've met her. She's the most obnoxious feck* that I've ever met. And believe me, she's up against some fairly sturdy competition.LeverEnd wrote:Tesco has pulled another shelebrity blinder after the recent appearance of Joey Essex, this time it's Katie Price launching some perfume! She told him to take a running jump when he offered a poke? But the killer wasn't her jibes about never knowingly engaging with a wine-guzzling sot, but just when she said "and as for that shirt.." and raised a disdainful eyebrow.LeverEnd wrote:How? When? Why?

Can't be arsed searching it, but there's a picture doing the rounds.. Some celebrity jizz fest "you're shit unless you're famous" kind of job, took a photo of the Price family, new fella and new baby along with her son (who I think is blind and disabled).
Anyhow, her son is holding the new baby and quite clearly has an erection poking sideways out of his jogging bottoms.
It's fvcking hilarious, but apparently, she's not too happy about the fact it hasn't been photoshopped.
