Re: Checkmate...
If there is a name for it I'm afraid I don't know it. Your response was Reti but in that White's second move is always P-B4 - so you got out of the Reti system early when White advanced the King's pawn. This looks like some kind of four Knights game with the pawns in unusual spots.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Time for a piccy...
can't wait for Monty to tell me what my defence is called. If it turns out not to have a name, then I'm claiming naming rights and in response to the Reti opening that's a Reticent Defence!

Re: Checkmate...
This seems to be transforming into a Queen's Pawn opening without the P-QB4 on White's second move. It seems closest to the Queen's Bishop Game, where White develops the KB to B4. How long until Black tries the Queen side fianchetto?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Oh look, we're all symmetrical again

when I was playing kinty I could tell he was concentrating, being all quiet and ignoring any aside I made. You on the other hand, I can tell that if we were playing this face to face you'd be the sort of player to rabbit constantly, rabbit rabbit. rabbit.
