Re: No Jackett required?
Wet and windy match on the cards today. Not a day for glove and scarf footballers and there'll be a few skidding around on their arses no doubt. Been absolutely battering it down in Farnworth. It's raining a lot nicer now but still coming down. It'll never reach the levels of the Burnden Park waterpolo league era and I don't think even the Reebok has seen another water fest like the Zenit St Petersburg affair, no Stelios to play keepy-uppy, but it'll be wet out there on the greensward today. A northern football match typical winter day should give us the edge on the sunshine boys, although it even pxssed down on the Lord Mayor's Parade in the capital.
I feel almost guilty for sitting here supping tea in my Wanderers mug as I get ready to listen to the commentary on Tower, at least till I remember how many soakings and freezings in snow and fog I've done for the cause in the past. " Then I don't feel sooooo bad" (hums, grins and rubs hands. COME ON YOU WHITES then....Give the southerners a right royal northern welcome. Three in the net for us today.......

Interesting to see Hall start, I guess we might see him go off for NGog later on.

Big hand ticking almost up to the vertical. Gary Cooper has a final check on his Colt 45 and takes a deep breath. The Train whistle blows and.....it all kicks off....
First home win is the question being asked by Mark Wilson?

Minute's silence in an armed forces rememberance gesture....sounds to go off repectfully and the match noise begins. Lonergan wears the Sherwood green again as the rain lashes down. We collect and make an early break and......Beckfors slides in and just misses a good ball in.
McNaughton sets off and we get a free kick. Quick one gets clears and Ream clears for us. Hall, Chungy and......oooohhh, Beckford gets done for pushing. Good start and Chungy did well, so did Hall. They come... and then Hall shows some skill. Now Dans, Baptista nnnnnn Chungy and Hall make it 1-0.

Re: No Jackett required?
Hall and Chungy doing really well there. Great start and Mills gets the ball back to Lonergan. We come again and get forward quickly. Down near their corner, it's a throw. Dans gets pulled but gives away a free kick. Cleared by Baptiste, then Kamara, then Hall figures again. Beckford beaten to it but he's putting himself about. Millwall have a dab causing a tremble but we clear well via Mills. If we can just capitalise on the early goal....Hall, Mcn, breaks down but Whites getting good words on the air. Beckford goes....cleared.

Re: No Jackett required?
We're scoring earlier and earlier... which means longer periods of defensive lockdown by DF?
Re: No Jackett required?
apparently there was a millwall player down as we scored - and the millwall manager and players were complaining that we should have kicked the ball out...
hasn't it all been made clear that this is entirely the refs decision and NOT up to the players precisely to deter the utter nonsense where players went down as an attack unfolded only to get straight back up again...
