no - that's not what I mean. I am just wondering why it is considered funny - and your comment about betting Dwight Yorke is a proud dad was kinda the icing on the cake...Annoyed Grunt wrote:It's not a fake picture, if that's what you mean...thebish wrote:maybe I have missed some subtle humour - if so, I am sorry...
but so far this just looks like taking the piss out of a blind and autistic child...

I think you need to be a little more consistent with the faux moral outrage.....thebish wrote:no - that's not what I mean. Re: The Official You Tube/weird world thread.
Weird has always existed.
Anyone under 33 wasn't even alive when this was shown one Saturday morning in late 1980 on the show which made Chris Tarrant's name ... Tiswas. Art Garfunkel had a #1 hit with 'Bright Eyes' the theme to the animated film 'Watership Down'.
This kid came on, in a bunny outfit, and did his own rendition. It was a sensation & in times when things weren't repeated an hour later, there was no catch-up' tv and no YouTube etc. .
For those who recall it ... here it is again. For those who have never seen it ... enjoy ; -

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It had already been posted.....but you didn't say anything then....
Re: The Official You Tube/weird world thread.
indeed it had... but - as I fairly clearly said - it was your comment about betting Dwight Yorke is a proud dad - (with the implication that he perhaps shouldn't be or isn't) - that was the icing on the cake...Annoyed Grunt wrote:

That wasn't your first response to it though, was it?thebish wrote:indeed it had... but - as I fairly clearly said - it was your comment about betting Dwight Yorke is a proud dad - (with the implication that he perhaps shouldn't be or isn't) - that was the icing on the cake...Annoyed Grunt wrote:

Little bit more consistency...You passed it of the first time........
Re: The Official You Tube/weird world thread.
yeah - i let the first posting go - but as I have said twice now - your comment pushed it to the point where I considered it to be beyond reasonable - the implication that a father should/would not be proud of his blind & autistic child. until you piped up, that had not been said or implied - so - no - I did not pass that off the first time.Annoyed Grunt wrote:That wasn't your first response to it though, was it?thebish wrote:indeed it had... but - as I fairly clearly said - it was your comment about betting Dwight Yorke is a proud dad - (with the implication that he perhaps shouldn't be or isn't) - that was the icing on the cake...Annoyed Grunt wrote:

we all have levels at which we are prompted to make a response - as I have said - your comment was the one that reached my threshold.
Re: The Official You Tube/weird world thread.
Oh come on AG, I think you need to tone down the faux moral outrage at Bish's faux moral outrage, notwithstanding that his lack of faux moral outrage the first time, is now the cause of your own faux moral outrage.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.
Re: The Official You Tube/weird world thread.
I didn't think he implied that, thought it was just more of a 'my son's got a bigun' type joke and nothing to do with his disability at all. It would get laughed at in the same way whether or not there was a disabled eprson involved. The target of the laughter is Jordan really (at the risk of coming over all Frankie Boyle).thebish wrote: indeed it had... but - as I fairly clearly said - it was your comment about betting Dwight Yorke is a proud dad - (with the implication that he perhaps shouldn't be or isn't) - that was the icing on the cake
Then again I could be wrong and please all free to ask me who asked me several times.

Re: The Official You Tube/weird world thread.
i inhabit a different world (which is why - in my original post I asked if it was possible I had missed summat)
in the world I inhabit i have never yet come across a dad who expresses pride that his 11yr old son "has a bigun"!

That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
