Yep, I've looked, still down and my pawns are shoite. So the resignation sticks, congrats bish. My end game is terrible and you avoided my middle game, so I've no doubt you would continue on to a win.

You and me both. Technically (i.e. if we were both perfect) my game with kinty is drawn. However, he is closer to perfect than me and I'm just sitting here waiting to do something stupid. It's a good thing kinty was concentrating on his other titanic struggles else he would have annihilated me over earlier stupidities. chess.com is also depressing - how can you be up for a game when it announces Mr Kinty 1557, Montreal Wanderer unrated? Oh well, at least Prufrock in now my friend.

Whatever happens my game with kinty won't last 50 moves - all hell is breaking loose at the moment. It's getting like Zugswang or whatever they call it.

if you have technically drawn with kinty (whatever that means) - then you are a very damn fine player indeed...

No, kinty has been playing a few simultaneous games and it is now late at night his time while I am fresh in the afternoon - I suspect your game got his resistance down. We've both made blunders. I said technically drawn because we were then equal in material but I just got a break if I can take advantage of it.

don't do yourself down, Monty - you're beating kinty, you found a way forward for LLS - you know your openings back to front and can spot the variations! you're a damn fine player!!

I do know openings (book learning from very old books including one published in 1889 and autographed by the world champion Steinitz). I have books by Lasker and Capablanca but I have never really got beyond openings (and nineteenth and early twentieth century ones at that). It's beginning to look like a draw again as I appear to have messed things up.

We have reached 50 moves - messing about with pawns takes a lot of time, but things are looking up again.

Mine ended at 54 moves too.

I made it to 26 vs Kint. Could have dragged it out a bit more, but I don't like flogging a dead nag.

Better game in the World Championship today. They even played it all out to the end.

Carlsen gets himself into what looks a right unco-ordinated mess in the few moves after 22. Nd2, but gets out of it and by move 39 it's a drawn position with the opposite-coloured bishops.

The queen was on h1 for 10 moves

Carlsen's openings surely need some revision. He's been in a worse position in every game after about 10 moves, I think. Might be alright in normal tournaments but when you're playing an opponent with about a million seconds, any weakness will be exploited (well, should be)
