Boro ticketing row

Post by boltonboris » Tue Nov 19, 2013 1:03 pm

Bolton have reported Middlesbrough to the Football league after home ticket prices were capped at £12 whereas the away supporters are being charged £27.

The charter reads that away supporters shouldn't be charged more than the most expensive home match tickets.

Hope we're successful.

May seem a petty row to have but these things are important.

See also the snook-cocking at tradition with live TV footerball on Boxing Day at 3pm, and to hell with protecting the Football League.

Abso-bloody-lutely.

Just what that piece of legislation was made for.

I, for one, feel that my rights as a human being are being transgressed by this. In fact, I can barely function now and I feel utterly oppressed.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Just had a look at this and they seem to be saying that we should reciprocate the offer on New Years day and I for one am in total agreement with them

Say we charge our fans £25 for that game, we should charge them £56.25 (which is the multiplication factor difference between £12 and the £27 quid they will charge us at their stadium)

So i think that's fair all round :D

PS I wont be bothering going to Boro but to all that do, hope you get a cheap ticket, and good on the club for bringing it up I say !!

I thought we played the same trick with away fans in past. Dunno what the situation is now like.

We caused a boycott of Man City fans by charging £42 to sit behind the goal... And our fans in equivalent seats were pretty sold out with season tickets or similar... City fans boycotted pretty well...

We behaved better after Blackburn, I think the following season offered us the same dirt cheap ticket (£10?) as the home fans and we offered a similar, not quite as generous again for the return game... Since then, and that's about 10 years ago, we've played it honest... If there's a bargain for ours it's for the away fans as well...

I think this is as it should be... Or better - I support the FSA's '20's plenty' campaign.

That sounds like a plan, I bet hardly of them turn up with it being on the 1st of JAN anyhow.

The club have confirmed that they're charging the away fans the same as the home fans.

Bit of oneupmanship there.. 2 fingers up and looking like the bigger people.. Not what I expected, but fair play.
