Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Dull is right. Sweden vs Portugal on the other hand is a cracker. Ronaldo the git. Ridiculously good.

Ibra is no prick. Good guy. His on field character is a front. Very different off the field.

It was poor, but I don't believe you! That would be a fairly accurate title for a documentary about England's failings over the past 20 years.

I removed myself from the room with the TV in it as soon as the match ended, in order to satisfy my missus's desire that that room should contain a TV... otherwise it've been out the window.
That's not a leopard!

Only realised this morning that the German keeper didnt have a shot to save all game. That is atrocious at International level.

As football becomes more and more mercenary, international football becomes less and less appealing. Players retiring from interbnational football to prolong their earning power is a case in point. Not that I particularly blame them for it, unless they are the sorts whio indulge in hollow tubthumping and badge-kissing beforehand, and the usual 'greatest honour' banalities.

I'm sure we'd all get more pleasure out of seeing Wanderers win the playoffs than England winning the World Cup. I certainly would enjoy a World Cup win, but not as much.

In another thread, somebody - LK I think - was talking about happiness and depression being relative concepts.

This surely goes a long way to explaining the club over country debate for football fans - you can't be all that happy if everyone gets to join in the celebrations, as would be the case when the national team wins.
