2 things make me happy tonight..

1. am singing for a fundraiser with the missus and daughter tomorrow afternoon - the torquay trio... anyway - we got round to doing a bit of practising - and just sat listening spellbound to my gorgeous daughter singing "When somebody loved me" from Toy Story... melted my grisly old grumpy heart! 8)

blub blub

2. you will remember my eldest had his long locks hacked off for an interview... turns out he thinks this is a once-off thing - the old haircut business... graduation ceremony on Tuesday - the missus has been stressing and nagging at him to go and get it cut again - over tea this continued - with me and daughter remaining amused and neutral!! anyway - off he toddles upstairs and skypes his boyfriend in Florida... BF declared that it wouldn't harm to have it trimmed!!! round one to the missus - who declares that she now loves the BF-in-law!!

It's a reasonable question for a Willy to ask. Especially during Movember.

Re the news clipping posted by Bruce above. He was referring to the clip bottom right but the story top left drew my attention. The image below has been on the GMP Retired page for months now seeking information about who's funeral it was. All that was known was that it was leaving Deane Church lane and, because of the clear importance of the deceased, it was thought to be a Borough Chief Constable. But, Bruce may have inadvertently solved a long standing mystery. What a remarkable coincidence!

So send the answer in and claim your reward, Clappers. I was glad they said Union Jack not Union Flag!

I've just bought a 9 ft Christmas tree. I'm never normally getting excited about Xmas in November but I'm hosting it this year, there'll be 12 of us so I need to be super organised.

I hope the guests are walking !!

We've had 25 years of 'hosting'. This year, due to a variety of family issues (not fall outs & no, I'm not 'barred' from my own home) it'll be just 5 of us. Not sure whether to breath a sigh of relief or bemoan the joy of the challenge.

It's all in the preparation and planning T ... & ensuring the oven(s) are large enough.

Haha, I'm hoping the wardens won't come round on xmas day and they can park out front!

It's great actually, people just keep offering to do things like the desserts and even the washing up. I'm more excited to make sure the tablecloth matches the house decor :D

Was it one of those 12 ft ones with 25% off?

Haha. I admit, trying to measure how high the ceilings were to see how tall a tree I could get was a tad troublesome.
