If you could pick six players...

Aye, equal chance of both coming back, then Holden all day (though both would be in my six - or four as it would be
), I just think pea-head is done.

Re: If you could pick six players...
I'm sure there'd be a lot of change if we were to also have a "Wheater when he was knocking on the door for an England spot at Boro" and a "Beckford when he hit 30+ at Leeds" too!boltonboris wrote:People would rather have Spearing than a fit Holden in their team?? My god, that's like binning off a Tunnocks caramel wafer and eating a Digestive instead!!
We're obviously all going off what the players are like now, Holden has no chance of being the player he was in my opinion.

In that case. I'd STILL have Holden before Spearing. As I said he's been massively disappointing since we paid money for him.

Medo
Hall
Eagles
I'd shoot the rest,
but if forced under threat of death to name three more...
Spearing
Bogdan

sorry you'll have to kill me.

Re: If you could pick six players...
There are so many if's and but's to this, but on potential its hard to look past the first three of Holden, Lee and Mavies. The problem is, one looks like a perma-crock, the other like a mostly perma-crock, and the third has never been right since a devastating injury over two years ago. Is luck allowed to play a part in proceedings?
Beyond those three, I like the cut of Medo's jib, and (dare I even say it?) Tim Ream is starting to look like he earns his living playing football. And I wish to god that Beckford consistently looked like the player he can be. There's a promotion team in there somewhere, its whether it will come out is the problem.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Oh I dunno. Late last season, we consistently avoided defeat. Early this season, we consistently avoiding victories...throwawayboltonian wrote:Problem is that also describes a lot of other Championship teams too. The main thing that separates them all is consistency, and that's something our team have lacked for years now.

Re: If you could pick six players...
Had a read through this whilst wondering if folk would still go with the choice they made originally.
I'm sticking with my own six:
Bogdan
M.Davies
Beckford
Kamara
Tierney
Hall
Who's seen enough to change their opinion?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm changing my opinion:

Re: If you could pick six players...
my six were:
Mavis
Medo
Spearing
Baptiste
Beckford
Hall
I'd still be happy with that list.
so I pass the CAPS smug-about-Beckford test..
however - (interestingly) - CAPS himself didn't pick Beckford in his 6 - he could only think of one, namely, Medo...

I can't remember what I said originally about Beckford. I'm chuffed to bits he's scoring now. If he's happy in a Wanderers shirt, happy with what Df's doing then I'm not going to complain
Medo is going to be integral I think to DF's counter attacking style game, be interesting to see how Holden would fit into this system later on or even Mavies

there you go! happy to help!TKIZ wrote:Beckford is a shoite donkey and should never start again. Dougie should resign for having signed such an utter bag of donkey-wank. Beckford should be drowned in a vat of Roy Keane's urine.
