That must be one of the worst "Sell outs" I've ever seen. I didnt have much respect for him before, but after that...... Well he can Feck right off and I hope he dies by getting bummed to death by all of One Direction and Louis Walsh!!!!Annoyed Grunt wrote:All he saw was the pay cheque......wigan white wrote:WTF have I just seen...... stuck for summat to watch - having finished "Spiral" - I watched the first episode of Cracker... I have forgotten it all... still good stuff!
(with the bonus that it was so long ago that it is now possible to spot actors who went on to do other stuff - so far - Christopher Ecclestone and that bird that plays Zoe in Casualty...)

Yes, I was surprised, quite sad he won't be a judge on X Factor next year, I like him and thought he did a good job stepping into Simon Cowells shoes as a judge which can't have been easy. This has lowered his street cred (am still a little bit of a Take That fan though...)wigan white wrote:Im still in shock at how low he's plunged, plus the fact his new song is trying to copy Mumford &Sons!!!Gooner Girl wrote:I was shocked, disappointed - but quite entertained by how low he stooped!wigan white wrote:WTF have I just seen...... Too be fair, I thought he used to be a half decent songwriter for the genre that he performs in, but he's just cashing in now. What with the X-factor thing, for which originally he was quite honest as a judge and treated it as a singing comp rather than the joke it was but now he's just turned into one of the "cartoon character judges" like Scherzinger and his blatent attempt at copying Mumford, Passenger and all the other folk-song "big thing" singers.Gooner Girl wrote:Yes, I was surprised, quite sad he won't be a judge on X Factor next year, I like him and thought he did a good job stepping into Simon Cowells shoes as a judge which can't have been easy. That Gary Barlow advert was a clear example of selling-out after a fall in popularity.
I've now lost all respect for those meerkats

Just watched it on i-player. What an absolutely fantastic programme. Really surprised at some of the revelations about Seaworld, especially as ive been there 3 times. Just goes to show that what you expect to be happening at these places isn't always what is actually happening.General Mannerheim wrote:Phenomenal, powerful stuff!Harry Genshaw wrote:Just watched 'Blackfish' - sad & disturbing stuff

The people at LF have sent me 'Precious'. Not sure I'm looking forward to watching it though.

May the bridges I burn light your way

Yeah, I went there in the early 90s and remember hearing the same spiel that was picked up on in the film "They live longer in captivity" etc. I'd damn well boycott its ass if I were ever to go back to Floridawigan white wrote:Just watched it on i-player. Re: What are you watching tonight?
I'd definitely have to think twice about going as on one hand its the only place my kids could see some of these incredible creatures, but on the other hand from what I saw from the programme im not happy with the lies we've been fed and how the animals are treated.Harry Genshaw wrote:Yeah, I went there in the early 90s and remember hearing the same spiel that was picked up on in the film "They live longer in captivity" etc. I'd damn well boycott its ass if I were ever to go back to Floridawigan white wrote:Just watched it on i-player. Got to say I'm quite surprised (& not a little disappointed tbh) that you'd still consider taking your kids there after watching the prog.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
It all depends on what changes have been made for the welfare of the animals, since the programme, I know apart from the ruling that the trainers cant go in with the orca , apparently other changes where supposed to be being introduced to improve the welfare of the animals. But if nothings changed, then its a definite no, as I want my kids to grow up knowing the right way to care for animals.Harry Genshaw wrote:Got to say I'm quite surprised (& not a little disappointed tbh) that you'd still consider taking your kids there after watching the prog.

Went to see Philomena at Cineworld... Once i manged to separate Coogan from Partridge, which isn't easy, I realised I was watching a very, very good film. any graced by Judi Dench will l;ave something good in it.
What has become a familiar, but still horrifying, story of Irish Catholicism's barbarity and heartless cover-ups, its cruelties, its lies, its disgrace is the heart of this movie, whose protagonist copes with the agony of her illegitimate baby being sold (in 1952) to American adoptive parents, and her search for him with the aid of disgraced political commentator-turned spin doctor, Martin Sixsmith (Coogan)...
