Re: What are you watching tonight?
yes, the wispy waif breathlessly whining to piano dirge seems to be the done thing at the moment. Not just in adverts but the hit parade and Eggs-Factor too.LeverEnd wrote:Talking of adverts I'm getting sick of whiny covers of old songs everytime I watch TV. They are everywhere now. About time the ad lot had a bit of originality instead of just copying each other. I blame John Lewis.

Tonight I'm going to give you my own take on Pato Banton and radical Roger's seminal classic 'Bubbling Hot'.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Had Netflix a couple of months now. Watched loads on it straight off, but not as much recently. Agreed on the lack of info and I also think that it's a shit layout on screen. Daughter watches it non-stop which makes the subscription worthwhile, as she has been mithering for sky multiroom for ages, but isn't bothered now.
On the subject of sky. I caved in and upgraded to movies at the weekend. They're half price (£8/month) for 6 months for existing customers at the moment. Offer ends on the 28th if anyone is interested.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just stumbled across a show called 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo', a reality show about the family of a chubby kid who appears in beauty pageants.
They seems like an odd but decent lot who have been set up by cynical TV execs to be sneered at. Only managed 5 mins before turning over.

By the blithering crin. I've just realised that I'm watching Arsenal when Masterchef's on. Thank feck for series link recording. Think I'll just knock up a bacon butty first.

May the bridges I burn light your way

I was channel hopping. Champs Lge group stage is a boring money-making exercise.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
The curse of Series Link.
The other night I was watching an interesting show about a Killer Whale or Danny Dyer or Peter Andre* or summat when my telly kept freezing and turning over to Nick Jr.
There was a message on the screen but because I didn't have my glasses on I couldn't read it and just kept switching back to Orange Housewives or QVC or whatever I had on.
Over and over the telly kept turning back to Nick Jr.
Eventually when I moved closer to the screen I read that because 'three programmes were about to start TiVo had to turn over.'
The programmes? All three were Peppa Pig. It's on 24hrs a day for parents unable or unwilling to send their kids to bed - why bother recording it?
I deleted about 1,000hrs of the Pig family and their antics and carried on watching 16 and Pregnant or MTV Cribs.
I am sick to death of technology questioning my judgement. If I turn over from Peppa Pig (it was the 'Duck Land' one) then I've turned over from Peppa effing Pig. Don't get smart with me and turn it back. That goes for printers too. If I say 'print' I don't want a box to pop up saying 'are you sure?' yes I'm effing sure that's why I pressed effing 'Print'. I don't want to 'resize' or 'fit' or staple' JUST EFFING COPY THE THING.
*Peter Andre. I have become enthralled by this show Peter Andre - I Love My Kids. I don't know if that's what it's called - if it isn't it should be because he says it every five seconds.
I always thought I lead a mundane life but Andre takes it to a new level. One week you'll see him in B+Q buying turf, the next he's back to buy a lawnmower.
It's riviting stuff that no amount of editing can make TV worthy.
The chasm between the blokes talent and fame is gigantic.
I seriously advise you to watch. Open jawed.

I've got a 'thing' on my browser, that my brother dowloaded, then lets me just switch between UK and US versions of Netflix. I can also access Canadian and other versions of Netflix I think, not that I have.CAPSLOCK wrote:US or UK netflix?Burnden Paddock wrote:Had Netflix a couple of months now. intrigued by CAPS's question, I looked this up... has anyone tried the manual DNS code setting on an XBOX360 to switch it to american netflix?CAPSLOCK wrote:US or UK netflix?Burnden Paddock wrote:Had Netflix a couple of months now.
