Last night while walking the dog, some pimply individual asked me "You got any skins mate?"
Caught on the hop I had no idea what he was on about and was tempted to say "Just the one but I'm using it right now" - which would have been better than my actual response, which was just a blank stare.

It's the people who take photos of themselves in mirrors I don't get. A dirty smeary mirror with a flash light reflected, how is that ever going to be the basis of a good photo?

I fall under the baby bore category and post way too many pictures of the kids (and the dog) on the basis that they are far more gorgeous and smile inducing then I am. Probably still boring everyone rigid though.

Dubai has just won the bid for the 2020 World Expo. Good for the city, but the additional hype is going to push property rental prices to even sillier levels. Villas like mine in my area are going for 8.5k GBP more a year than I'm paying. By the time my lease is up I can see it being at least 10k This is for an average 2 bedroom villa well outside the city. Crazy.

Honestly don't know at this stage. We moved here for Mrs AT's job (she's the clever one!) with no set plans. There is plenty I like about being here, but plenty that I don't. I'd like to move back to the UK at some point, with the idea we save enough money to buy somewhere mortgage free and semi retire. Her job could mean travelling further east before we get to return to the UK though.

Dubai is starting to get too expensive. The cost of living here is rocketing and salaries are stagnant or declining in general. Property prices in some areas have gone up 40% in the last year and it will get to the stage where only the folks on really serious money can afford to stay. Part of the problem behind falling salaries is that they'd rather hire 5 people from the sub continent that are incapable than 1 person that knows what they are doing. The 5 people are much cheaper to employ, so employers are using this to lower salaries for the people that know what they're doing. It is a crazy place that tests your sanity daily.

Saw one last night that my mate had commented on, which was a photo of a terrible car crash ans various stories of how people had died after rejecting God/Jesus from their lives. It ended with 'If you don't comment Amen and share this within 8 hours you are also rejecting the lord' etc.
Anyway I went to comments to see what witticism my mate had put on there, but couldn't find his comment among the 250000 or so Amens. Shame really, would have amused me to see what he'd written to wind up the gullible fcukwitts.
Where do you even start with that one? I hope he swiftly unfriended the person who had shared it on his timeline.

Read up the history of Lewis Collin's dad and how he swindled the rights to "Without You" from Evans and Ham. They made barely a penny from it while Mr Collins Snr. did fantastically well.

With both Evans and Ham ultimately going on to commit suicide.

Narr then - someone once told me a story about how the members of Procol Harum didn't receive any money from A Whiter Shade of Pale. My memory of the story is sketchy at best, so presumably the conversation took place on licenced premises, but I also remember something about it having been written originally on beer mats and for some reason there was mention of the bar at The Belfry as well. the ones that amuse me are the ones that ask a ridiculously easy question, like - how many tails has a normal dog got - and there follow 45,000 one word answers - ONE - one after the other... as if they are somehow proud of their general knowledge...
