Enigmatic, Monty?
I reckon she had taken a fancy to bobo. The coquettish stance and the gleam in her eye says it all. It's as well he got back to his hearth as soon as he did.

To be honest I'm far more impressed by Hopeful's technical shots of floodlit London.
Mine were just on my camera but it was lovely along there. Here are a few more & yes, the sheep do seem to preoccupy leisure activities in Wales.
... & Monty, if the sideways glance got you excited look at the "straight into your eyes" version

This one stopped me in my tracks. I'm HOPING it simply reflected thoughts for someone for whom this was a favourite spot.
However, there was a 120' sheer cliff about 5 paces away. Despite the turd-brown blazer I'm not especially religious, but it did elicit a small prayer from me.

This isn't actually mine, but I found it on a photo site. It does show the full beauty though.

.... and finally, those damn sheep again

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I see that the bits of boat are still lethally sticking out of the sand. Those pointy bits were there years, nay, decades ago

Nice shots AH! It's amazing what a difference catching that blue hour can make... when i lived around London I went into town a couple of times with some photographer mates to do a London by might photography pub-crawl type thing...
you must have stood in pretty much the same spot as I was in to take these...

(in the second one you can see the blur of the bridge opening as i took it... some bastarding navy ship decided to toddle through just as i set up!)

It's images like this that remind me what a stunning city I live in. Shame about the terrible weather we've been having recently though. I mean, it was 6 degrees when I left the house this morning.thebish wrote:Nice shots AH! That last sheep shot looks like you've just finished having your wicked way with her. Is it a Welsh thing, Bobo?bobo the clown wrote:To be honest I'm far more impressed by Hopeful's technical shots of floodlit London.

Were those Tower Bridge shots taken from St Katherine's Dock? Stayed at the Tower Thistle for a week once (work, not fun) and that was pretty much the view that greeted me every morning. Marvelous stuff.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Thanks, but your's are clearly better than mine!!thebish wrote:Nice shots AH! It's amazing what a difference catching that blue hour can make... when i lived around London I went into town a couple of times with some photographer mates to do a London by might photography pub-crawl type thing...

Hopefully one day I'll get there for in time for blue hour.
Yep, I chose that spot simply to avoid having the Shard in my shot, hiding it behind the northernmost tower.
Hope is what keeps us going.

i think the only difference between yours and mine is that mine were (by chance) taken in the blue hour... (also - my aperture is smaller - which gives the starburst effect...)

Re: the Photo thread
Going through some old files I have I found this one from 14yrs ago. The driver had stopped in Eskdale and asked in the shop for directions to Ambleside without mentioning what type of vehicle he was in. He was in quite some predicament!

Hard Knott was bad enough when I rented an eight-seater minivan for my family. I was coming the other way from Ambleside and I'm not sure whether it is worse going up or down.

^ What have you done at that, thebish? Its almost stereoscopic. An attempt at HDR? Fantastic scene though.
Re: the Photo thread

Alternatively, by the roadside on the right about halfway up where the white streak leaks into the leaves..

Re: the Photo thread
I've got to be honest Bish, I don't like that photo one little bit. It does nothing for me in the way of thrills, and doesn't give me much of a technical tour de force either. I'm not being mean just... meh. (sorry).
