What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

watched "Warm Bodies" last night...

started off (I thought) as in intriguing premise - but then turned utterly and, indeed, redihiculously daft...

took a while to work out where I had seen the lead zombie bloke.... it was skins - and the missus says we also saw him famously as a child actor in summat I have now forgotten about again!

About a boy.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Gave a large part of today to watching SABC's coverage of Mandela's memorial service and tributes.

In my top five, possibly number two. An absolutely incredible film, brilliantly acted.

My housemate excitedly paused while flicking through the channel listings to read the blurb on that film. When he discovered that it wasn't a creature feature he carried on and ended up watching Bullseye reruns on Challenge instead. At least it wasn't Sharknado or Pirahnaconda again.
I'll look it up.

:D Doesn't everyone?!!

Been scouting around for one to watch while we're in Manchester for the next couple of days. Sadly, Philomena isn't on at the right time, so going to give The Butler a shot. I'll report back.

I caught the early evening screening of Nebraska at the Cornerhouse tonight.

By the director of Sideways and About Schmit - two very high benchmarks imho. It does not disappoint. The premise is an elderly man mistakenly believes he has won a million dollars. His son, despite knowing the truth, agrees to drive him 800 miles to collect it.

Like the other two, it's a kind of life-affirming, character driven road movie, gentle, easily paced, at times very funny, with a firm beating heart underpinning it.

Lovely script, excellent score (mostly acoustic guitar driven). Acting of great assurance. And if I had an Oscar vote Bruce Dern as the old, confused, ratty old man would be a shoo in for best actor.

Really, if you like film - go see it.

You've spoiled it now.

Only kidding. Really looking forward to seeing this film. Sideways is one of my favourite films. I enjoyed The Descendants to a point, but it wasn't anywhere near as good.

While we're on the subject of food did anyone watch Toast of London? I'm not usually a fan of Matt Berry but this had me laughing pretty much from start to finish.

Some great swearing.

Mush.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Once met a bloke called Alastair Appleton who presented that. He shared a house with an athletics coach I knew. I'd never heard of it which he seemed to find refreshing. He picked it up when struggling to find acting work. Very bright and interesting bloke, same can't be said of the programme when I finally tuned it.
