aye... had a bit of a mare this test, by all accounts...jaffka wrote:If prior fails with the bat again his place must be under threat as his keeping hasn't been great either.
I'm sure it would help him if the top order batsmen gave him any kind of a platform to play from, though...

Re: Winter ashes...
I suppose everybody has a bad patch somewhere. Prior has always been a favourite of mine because he's usually so reliable and unflappable. Having a real bad time with the gloves right now but he'll get over it. Broad's injury is a worry though.jaffka wrote:If prior fails with the bat again his place must be under threat as his keeping hasn't been great either.

Just did an inappropriate work laugh at 'if needed'.

Better get over it out of the team and give someone else a chance.TANGODANCER wrote:I suppose everybody has a bad patch somewhere. Top marks to Ben Stokes; a true soldier amongst a rabble. Can Prior stick around and build a partnership? Can Stokes hang on even if Prior does?
The next exciting episode of this thrilling story will be broadcast tomorrow morning at some ridiculous hour. Stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen.

As I said in the first (and second) tests. just 250ish to get at just a fraction over 3 an over, with half our wickets left. Piece o pi$$. Of course with Broad being injured, we might just fall a fraction short.Dujon wrote:Top marks to Ben Stokes; a true soldier amongst a rabble. Can Prior stick around and build a partnership? 332 for 6 - not too shabby so far. Only another 172 to get.

How do we stand now? Not seen any news yet.
Edit. Just seen it. Collapse again.

Well that's it then. Only thing left is to avoid a 5-0.
I can see cook being replaced as the captain, he doesn't seem to be imaginative when compared to the lines of Vaughn.

You should have read my post before commenting, TANGO.
Stokes should get an MBE for his valiant effort to save the day. Hopefully he will become England's all-rounder of the future. A stiff upper lip and a straight bat, what else could you wish for?
As a neutral I find myself discombobulated by the results to date. At least, I suppose, they are improving. 518, 281, 150 indicate the closing of a gap. If England can win both the Melbourne and Sydney tests then a 3-2 loss sounds much better than a 5-0 thrashing. As the Australian's are now celebrating; the urn is back.

Graeme Swann has retired from all forms of cricket with immediate effect.

Re: Winter ashes...
In the middle of a series they are losing heavily, and one of the senior players. Disgraceful quitter, I hope that's how he's remembered. Can't stand the arrogant wanker anyway. What an utter humiliation this series has been.Little Green Man wrote:Graeme Swann has retired from all forms of cricket with immediate effect.
